Ted I can relate to what you feel. There are some things you just don't do. Assaulting a parent and student is one of them. And the old me would be rooting for you to go out ant touch someone lol.

Other One You are partially right. There are two sides to every story but from what I got in the article this teacher was clearly in the wrong. For one thing she threw the child's bookbag in the garbage can, another she grabbed the child and actually hit the child and last but not least assaulted the child's mom with a chair. Yes there are obnoxious parents out there I will grant you but there are some teachers out there who give good teachers a bad name too. We had a case in NC at one of those schools of distinction where a teacher put a child with special needs in a garbage can. The school took the teachers side saying it was a clean can. Anyone does that to one of my children will lose their job.

Wow My Flesh is screaming, you do this to my wife and child you will BURN

Defending herself? With a chair shot to the back? Too much pro wrestling for this teacher?

In all honesty it is pretty bad when the kids arn't even safe from the teachers anymore.

God Bless,

Ted you put out exactly how I feel ! Trying to whoop my butt is one thing , but hitting my child ...grrrrrrrrrr. Seriously , this just goes to show you that your kids are safer with you than with a stranger . They are after all , a gift from God meant to be raised in the love and admonition of Christ . Not in a Godless society , where people find it to easy to bully others .

I wonder if the mom in this story will sue ? I hope she does !

Thank you all and have a wonderful blessed day , no matter whats going on in the world . After all God made we need to rejoyce and be glad in it ! Praise the lord for his goodness and grace .

Actually this could become a real mess for the school, as the parents of each of the kids in the classroom could actually have a real good case if they decided to Sue for emotional damages.

God Bless,

Dave

But then again there are teachers like me. My primary goal is to set an example. To be a strong and bold Christian educator. Make sure you don't group us all in the same category.

But this teacher was/is nuts!!!!!!!!!

When I first read this over the weekend I couldn't believe it. "Lawsuit" was the first word that came to mind. I'm actually a little dissapointed at the lack of details in the story. For example, we don't know if words were exchanged about the backpack. We don't know why the backpack was thrown away in the first place (Although, if one of my kids teachers threw her backpack away, I'd be want to exchange a few words of my own with the teacher). And we don't know who threw the first punch - or the first shove.

But I just put myself into that situation. First of all, if I had gone to my child's class and found out that the teacher had thrown away her backpack, I'd demand to know why, and on what authority the teacher had to do something like that. A decent backpack is around $15. For some people that $15 is a significant amount of money to shell out, along with the rest of the school supplies kids need. If my kids teacher arbitrarilly tossed her backpack away, I'd want my $15 back! And no teacher-----no teacher has any right to lay their hands on my kids, much less their belongings. Bad enough you should lay a hand on me, but let me hear about you laying a hand on my kids, and it's "go time."

Grrrrrr....

In defense of teachers ( am I really saying this after my own experiences with some of them?) there are a lot of really good teachers in schools. Unfortunatley we hear about the ones who do things that are not acceptable by any standards instead of ones who go the extra mile to help a child out. Chad no not all the teachers are created equal. There are some exceptional teachers out there like the special ed teacher my son had in first grade named Ms Fanney (pronounced fan-a -long a sound) If there were more of them I would not have had reason to pull out my children from public school. Today when i see stories like this it just reinforces my decision that no public school will have my child in it ever again.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
