It's just really frustrating because we don't know if this has been happening for decades or if it's really more recent.

The one thing we can know is recent, is the speed with which knowledge is going to and fro. I know that was part of one of the ancient prophesies. I think in Daniel. So we know we're in the end times, we just don't know how far along we are.

I know, remember a few years back, when there was a major quake, it was reported on the news & talked about-- aid being sent, etc. It seems now that quakes are ignored for the most part by the mainstream media-- this really bothers me & I wonder why this is so. Has it become so "normal" for these big quakes to happen or what?

Not only has secular knowledge increased, but God is increasing knowledge of His Word too.

This one is extremely interesting. Looking at the seismic data for the past 5 years it seems that it has really ramped up. I wonder what kind of data is available elsewhere for comparison?

This interactive map shows that Japan has been experiencing these type of earth quakes steadily for the past 100 years. One place to consider that what we are seeing today is more along the lines of access to information we once did not have. I am still doing some digging.

February 23, 2013Geological event rips road in Arizona: A 150-foot section of U.S. 89 south of Page that buckled and sunk four feet Wednesday might have been caused by ageologic event,” according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Arizona had a wet winter. This is not uncommon for us at all. It has happened all around the state and is not given any notice except as a matter of inconvenience while the state makes repairs. This is not a big deal.

A new thought came to me this morning and I wanted to share it for your consideration.

Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

It begins "And ye shall hear"

The question was brought up considering how do we know if the frequency of these events has changed. What struck me this morning is Jesus never said that the frequency of these events would ever change. He said we would be hearing about them. In the information age, as our brother John pointed out, we have access to information we normally would never have known about. You can't poop without finding a video of it on youtube. When seen in this light "ye shall hear" it goes right along with Isaiah telling us that knowledge will be increased, as it has been in many ways.

What I am seeing is that it depends on where your putting the focus on which part of what Jesus said.

Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear

  • of wars
  • rumours of wars:
  • nation shall rise against nation
  • kingdom against kingdom
  • famines
  • pestilences
  • earthquakes

Mat 24:8 All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.

These things have been going on since the beginning of time. There are some records of these events recorded for us as information has been gathered together and deposited in the internet for our ease of access. I looked at the history of earthquakes in various areas of the world and found that they have always been occurring in diverse places in the earth but we just hardly had any idea except there was major life lost in the quake. Same with famines and pestilences. The key is that we know now.

Why does this make a difference?

Sevenseas always brings a good point up when we discuss these things. She talks about the unnecessary driving of fear into the hearts of people by parading around those things that they have no control over. It brings a spirit of fear rather than love, joy and peace through Christ. Ungodly imagined fear is unhealthy and Satan uses it to drive people to do evil things. Godly fear edifies and draws people close to God for the protection they need in times of distress.

I am taking the position that the 'sign' of his coming is here. We hear about everything and the fig tree (man covering his own sin as is right in his eyes) is putting forth leaves as man unites in various causes and is looking to man instead of God. There is a human pyramid that is here upon the earth with various 'blocks' of organizations of diverse groups coming together of people who are doing 'good' works not knowing that their works are not accepted before God except they be done in Him through the Spirit.

Time has come. Let us simply draw nigh unto God and watch in awe as he deals with mankind as he has said he will. Let us put away every idol which dulls our vision, our focus on him. Let us richly enjoy all that he has given us without covetous possessiveness but in love share with one another the good things God has given unto us. Let us embrace each other in a Spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, meekness, temperance, goodness, gentleness and faith. Our God is Lord of Lord and King of Kings, there is none beside him and none shall make us afraid.

Peace is only in Christ, love is of God.

I post these reports to inform of what is happening in the way of signs that we were told to watch for. Jesus, in telling of what to watch for, tells us not to be fearful or terrified at what we see come to pass. He said to look up, our redemption is near when we see all these things happening. He tells us to watch and pray always. There should be no fear in those that have been made alive in Him. Fear is from our enemy and should be dealt with accordingly.

Earthquakes have always happened-- "Great" earthquakes are listed in the signs, not earthquakes in general. (Luke 21:11)

Gary, your gentle rebuke has been noted, but are we not allowed to report or discuss what we have been told to watch for?

Deb, my beloved sister, I too am seeking to understand exactly what when and how to say that which needs to be said. Consider that when revealing the act of consummation of a relationship between a man and woman, God chose to hide the understanding from youth by simply saying Adam knew his wife. A child who needs not know the information simply sees that they knew each other, not that they knew each other intimately in a physical manner.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about this and asking what is our instruction from the bible about it. What did our Master tell us to do? It isn't about whether we are 'allowed' to report but we must find in scripture that which explains that we are 'commanded' to report. There is a way that seems right unto a man and therein is the way to death. I confess, I don't know of any scripture that tells me that I am commanded to report. Maybe someone here can help disclose the proper handling of the information unto us. The following comes to mind:

Hbr 10:19 ¶ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Hbr 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Hbr 10:21 And [having] an high priest over the house of God;

Hbr 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Hbr 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised;)

Hbr 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Hbr 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

The text tells us what to do as we see the day approaching.

  • Dare to enter into the holiest of holies through the high priest
  • Draw near in full assurance of faith
  • Clear our consciences
  • Be washed in the water of the Word
  • Hold fast our profession of the faith
  • Consider one another for the purpose of provoking one another unto love and good works.
  • Gather together and comfort one another.

There is a place for watchmen to be set upon the walls. Their purpose is to call out that which is evil within that God reveals unto them. I think part of our responsibility is to be careful not to yell fire in a burning building and inadvertently cause those who are inside to scramble for escape and trample others who are in front of the exits clogging them so no one escapes but instead to watch the flames that are consuming that which is all around us and clothe the ones inside the building with fireproof vests that will protect them from the flames. Our occupants are dull of seeing and the flames invisible to their eyes. We must be ever mindful about the fact that we are posting on a public forum and our audience is not known unto us, therefore we must share in a way that is as if there are small children in the room who may be harmed by what we say. I am working on how to be tactful, careful and thoughtful in what I say here and to do all things in love in the Spirit. May God be honored in all our words.

We are told to 'watch' because we know not what hour our Lord comes. To watch and pray that we do not enter into temptation. To watch and strengthen our brethren who are weak. Watch and keep our garments white. These things are true. We are also told to 'warn' or 'admonish' one another, this not of the season but of their shame of nakedness that needs covered lest the Lord come as a thief and they be destroyed because they are profane fornicators. Knowing the terror of the Lord we warn men. Jesus is ruling and reigning for sure from heaven. He may send the destroyer at any time to destroy that which offends in his kingdom. Earthquakes, famines, pestilences and other things God sends ought to be understood by those we seek to warn as judgment from God and not simply some act of nature. I have come to understand that God wants us to be intimately connected to our brothers and sisters on a personal level in close proximity so that we might respectfully wash each others feet and keep our hearts pure before him that we have nothing to fear.

Please receive these words as they are meant and that being a deep desire to share that which I understand to be true and that which I believe will help us to remain standing in the presence of the Lord should he come through the land. My understanding is ever developing and my interactions, especially those that I have had with you, mean a lot to me as I have come to be fond of you as my own sister. Peace be with you always in Christ.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
