people have been living underground for ages, especially in large cities like NYC. People need shelter from the elements-in large towns like NYC, the underground tunnels for the water works etc are huge, and easy to access, making a very practical place to shelter homeless people from the elements. This isn't even a new phenomena, in ancieant Rome, which also had large underground network of tunnels, people lived under the streets there to-especially the persecuted Christians.

Keep in mind that some people desire this form of living, away from responsibilities beyond survival instincts. They don't want jobs, and apartment, or any other luxury we desire. To them, this is freedom to the most available degree, while still staying in the thriving society they also enjoy.

I am aware of that.But it still is sad.If you were to provide them with housing they would say....NO WAY

theres times I would like to live without the burdens of society, but underground is not where id want to be, id rather be roughing it in the mountains. Only problem with that is the US forest service might frown upon that lol.

Remember the show Kung Fu with David Carradine? I would like to do that for Christ, roaming from town to town doing His work and not worrying about anything.

I have been working with homeless people for many years. Some want to be homeless, or left alone, no matter what. They are real people who have issues with living in society. Notice that they do seek shelter to stay warmer or drier then being exposed to the natural elements. It is not that they want to remain exposed to nature, but they cannot, for whatever reason (and there are many), live in society.
