To Endure!

WoW! that really brightened my day. I grew up in a Baptist church and have been a United Pentecostal member for over 13 years, so sometimes things just become everyday going through the motions. It's nice to have a place to come online when your having a rough day and get a faith lift. Tanner

I went to church all of my life, as i stated earlier, however it wasn't until I completely started seeking the Lord to change me into whatever he wanted that things changed in my life. I remember praying for God to show me all that he had for me. I would pray and read my bible for hours and hours. When I would get through I would feel no different, but I would feel that there was more that God wanted for me and to keep praying and reading. As I read and prayed over a six month period, I took down posters on my walls and I got rid of more and more music and more and more videos. I did not have any videos or music left, except for those that were christian. In Acts the scripture explains an instance where the people burned books and turned to the Lord. Later on one of my friends who I was praying for at the time called me up and was having problems and didn't know what to do. I told him to get on his knees and pray to Jesus for forgiveness and for direction, then get up and thank him for delivering you and for saving you and for everything that he has ever done for you. He confessed to me later that when he was through praying he went and tore up posters that he had of the current champion women's tennis player and other things as well as tossing some music he had. Later he told me he didn't understand why he did it. I explained that there are so many seemingly innocent things that world uses to lure us and to keep us from the complete fullness of God. It's always a good idea to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling"-Philippians 2-12. The reading of the word washes our hearts and minds with the pureness and holiness of Jesus.

Amen Tanner, you are so very right about God's Word and about working out our own salvation with FEAR and TREMBLING. Where is that teaching now? Thank you for that WORD!

I am from the camp of eternal security, God gives us eternal life, that means we have eternal life, and can never lose it. If you can lose it, then it is not eternal life, we are in his hand, and no one can pluck us out of his hand, that is assurance, and that is why he wrote it, so that we would know we have eternal life. Enduring is placing your security on yourself, what you have is a misconception of enduring and grace, the bible does not instruct us, that we will not sin after we are saved, but that we will fall into sin, and that the good news is, that we have an advocate with the Father, and that he is just and faithful to forgive us our sins, that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, that the things that we would do, we do not, and that which we would not, that is what we do, that is what led the Apostle Paul to exclaim: Romans|7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? The answer Jesus will, after you endure in the flesh for a period of time, not to willingly live after the flesh, but to endure the trials, and tribulations of this life, but our hope is not in this world, and we should seek to walk after the spirit, but we should not enter into bondage of law, which is exactly what those who are advocating that we endure unto the end are doing. Whether they believe it or not. I know I am ruffling some feathers, but I believe that those who are teaching others that it is by their own effort, that they endure, or that if you sin after you are saved, then you are in a condemned state, is just not biblical, it is a false teaching, I know that these folks are sincere and mean well, but it is not possible to live a sinless life as long as we are in a mortal body, and Satin and his cohorts are free to temp us. By this teaching, it could cause many to faultier, those who will trust in their own works for salvation, and keep those who are saved in bondage.

John|6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

John|6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

John|6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

John|6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

I do not need a religion, as I have a Lord and Savior Who died for me, so that I might be saved. I'm afraid that leaves no room for anything else. That was ALL I needed. But, thanks for asking. I do hope that you will continue to watch the study forums though, and hear about who the Lord Jesus Christ Is! You might want to take a look at the Outer Court section, to see if those discussions interest you.

so here we go again...our human nature,our adamic nature "the old man" trying to add to THE NEW MAN something..ENDURANCE for example....so are we thinking that when will be in heaven we will have something to glory about like:" I HAVE ENDURED TILL THE END THAT'S WHY I AM HERE,WOW,I AM REALLY A SUPER SAINT!!! ..." etc..etc..

First of all,we didn't do anything to get saved..we were not there before the foundation of the world deciding to be saved but I ve read in the Book that He chose us ...before we could do anything good or bad 'cause we were not even born!

Then,since we were born we inherited the Adamic nature which is hostile to God and so we started our career of sinners being successful from the first attempt till one day ,when we were not seeking Him,He came in our life and called us and I don't care to understand why or how we said YES,SAVE ME I AM DYING,and HE SAVED us....FREELY asking nothing in return but to believe in HIM!!!

So where is the glory on our part?

Did we go on the cross?He went on the cross! Were we in the garden of Getsemane praying with HIM? The disciples fell asleep,all of them,He had to remind them that they couldn't pray with Him not even an hour!!! ah..ah..when I think that Jesus had to save the world using people like Peter John or James or me,Roberto,I really want to thank THE LORD for HIS GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR!!!ah.ah Because you see,we didn't contribute to our salvation but in ther fact that by sinning naturally,no effort at all,we gave HIM a reason to act,because HE CAME TO SAVE ( and KEEP SAVED,I ADD!!!) THE SINNERS,and sorry PAUL,I am the greatest of sinners not you( I am talking to the apostle Paul that was bragging about his sinning....just kidding)

Did we raise from the dead? HE DID the third day as promised HE WOULD HE KEPT HIS WORD...well JESUS IS FAITHFUL...

OK..did we send THE HOLY SPIRIT? HE CAME to seal us..so...WE ARE SEALED......I repeat SEALED ETERNALLY..God is not in the business to play with us,HE HAS SAVED US ETERNALLY and in FACT HE HAS SEALED UD,meaning:"This one is MINE!!!" I can quote the verses but it is a lot of stuff...but I know that in 33 years since He SAVED ME( ok He saved me BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD IN CHRIST,but in the TIME/SPACE dimension in which I live happened for me 33 years ago),I ,me,the super saint of God,HolySpirit filled giant of the faith,I,repeat,I have failed GOD everyday,literally!! Wait a moment..Am I bragging about it? No way,I am really sad ,but it is the truth...may be a dirty thought,may be a wrong attitude towards others,may be an holier than thou ,because I pray more than you..may be this may be that..everyday all the time I must say ,sorry Jesus,please forgive me,and of course He does,because He knows that in my flesh DWELLS NOTHING GOOD.....and if anyone tryies to convice me otherwise,I know that in my flesh dwells NOTHING GOOD!!!!So what ENDURANCE?

Wait a moment,after 33 years I am still here,talking about Jesus,talking of Jesus,talking to Jesus,talking with christian bros and sis,so eveidently THE HOLY SPIRIT has KEPT ME,and JESUS haas KEPT ME,THE FATHER HAS KEPT ME..so I owe HIM EVERYTHING,so THE GLORY goes to HIM,not to me...WOW...Well,I am happy because thaat is the way it should be,the old Adam is good for......NOTHING,the NEW ADAM IS PERFECT!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

I read in the book that once they asked to Jesus what they had TO DO to do the work of GOD and that HE said that THE WORK of GOD is......a)Pray 3 hours a day b)give your thite to Benny Hinn c)kiss the feet of the pope d) read the Book in a year e) obey Moses law in everything and fail not f) give your blood etc..etc.. NO!!

HE SAID THAT BELIEVING IN HIM ( JESUS) IS THE WORK OF GOD!!!!

Now ,I know,everybody will jump on me like:"TOO EASY"...EASY? u kidding me? we were dead ,DEAD in trespasses and sins,separated from God,aliens to the covenants of Israel,pagans,without God in the world,blind,paralized,dumb,deaf,demon possed possibly,I mean thats how JESUS found me!!!I don't know about you...but HE FOUND the garbage of the planet when HE FOUND ME....and also,I have never seen Jesus,never touched Him,never heard Him with my ears..I mean I belonged to old Adam,seeing is believing and the challenge was BELIEVE and you will SEE.....yeah,Praise JESUS,that is the way,BELIEVING BELIEVING BELIEVING JESUS...and NO CONFIDENCE IN THE FLESH...so,please DON'T EVEN TRYING this ENDURANCE thing...you might succeed for a while and then get proud and fall badly and hurt your nice little nose..because you'll fall ...take a bet? ah ah.....

but if you and I and all of us say:"Ok LORD,I BELIEVE YOU and I BELIEVE that YOU will make me "endure" to the end.." He'll answer:" DONE DEAL,SON" because it took you 33 years to understand but it looks like you are BEGINNING to understand....JUST FOLLOW ME,let THE DEAD BURY THEIR OWN DEAD,YOU,FOLLOW ME,LETS GO"

Because JESUS is THE BEGINNING and THE END,the ALPHA and OMEGA,JESUS IS,not you ,NO ME,and when JESUS does ssomething HE DOES IT RIGHT,perfect,right?

I know,I know that in the "church" there are those that think that we are " little gods" and that if we confess it right we will get it..but GOD will prove you WRONG,whoever you are and wherever you live or fellowship,because HIS GLORY HE WILL NOT GIVE TO ANOTHER...uhmmmm the post is getting a bit loong...
