Isaiah 45:22-24 (NIV)

[22] "Turn to me and be saved,

all you ends of the earth;

for I am God, and there is no other.

[23] By myself I have sworn,

my mouth has uttered in all integrity

a word that will not be revoked:

Before me every knee will bow;

by me every tongue will swear.

[24] They will say of me, 'In the Lord alone

are righteousness and strength.' "

All who have raged against him

will come to him and be put to shame.

Our God is a God who gives us cancer. He allows children to die. He causes depression and anxiety. We worship a God who will put us to shame trying to get us to repent. He does extremely painful things. He is supreme. In Him is righteousness and strength. He can do whatever he wants to do. This is the only true God and there is no other. But we don

Sometimes God gives cancer only to show how He alone can heal and bring restoration when we trust in Him.

Sometimes God takes away our sight for a season, only that we might have sight restored and become grateful for that which we take for granted.

We cannot assume we know all of our Lord's motives for what He does.

God has blessed me so abundantly, I am continually in a state of praise, yet I'm also beset with congenital illness passed on from one generation to the next.

Crummy genes.

A beautiful Christian woman named Joni-Erickson-Tada is a quadaplegic and still praises God in her affliction.

Sometimes God uses pain and suffering to sculpt a masterpiece. Anyone who's an artist knows the continual molding and shaping that takes place in order to create the "perfect work".

The bible says that those who walk in the Light of Christ are not appointed unto wrath.

God's children may be "disciplined" but wrath is reserved for the wicked and the unbelievers.

I am a product of wickedness and unbelief. I deserve NOTHING GOOD! For reasons I cannot understand, God had mercy on me, revealed Himself to me and loved me anyway. He forgave me and restored the years the locusts had eaten and laid a feast before me.

Yes, I have pain. Yes, I have disease...yet God has never failed to provide for every single need.

We sit around and moan because we live in an imperfect world with problems; a world plagued with sin and it's consequences....

Why don't we begin to focus on the beauty of a Creator God who loves us enough to send the sun and the rain in due season? Better yet, why not praise Him for the SON He sent to send us the hope of eternal joy with Him forever?

Crucified,

Yes in so many ways you're correct. We've gotten too much into a "name it, claim it" bunch of people. I don't wish to start a TV preacher debate, but too many are telling folks what they wanna hear to bring in the dough!!! However, let's also focus on the God who gives us snow in the winter, children to enjoy, puts clothing on our back, shoes on our feet, a roof over our head and the list goes on and on and on.....

It seems to me that those who get caught up in "blab and grab," often forget....

"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." -John 16:33

But we don't need to fear tribulation (or expect to be immune to it for even Christ suffered!).

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;

and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;

and hope does not disappoint , because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. -Romans 5:1-5

Praise God our hope is in Him! He is worthy of our praise at all times and in all things. We can trust Him that all things do work together for the good of those who love Him... He loves us unconditionally...

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies;

who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Just as it is written, "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED."

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 8:31-38

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. -2 Corinthians 2:14

I'm struggling with the phrase 'God gives cancer'. Is it not true that he allows it and not gives?

I don't think he would necessarily give me cancer, but allow it for some reason that yet we don't know.

I can't bow the knee now bacause I can't get down there but boy the second I get to Heaven my knee will bow in humble adoration and do so willingly

In my mind I can bow the knee now but then I will be able to do so for real.

just wanted to throw that into this discussion

S- Savior divine, oh, how precious He is,

The Lord gave me this poem when I was witnessing to an unbeliever who said they would never bow their knee to Jesus, eveyone will one day.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
