You're welcome...and I do quite a bit of repair on the side...

I do have a dumb question (after all, they're the easiest to answer :) ) According to your system specs, you have an on-board vga that is disabled when a video card is installed. This normally means that you'll have two plug ins for the video...one on the card and one on the Motherboard... is this the case?

if so, can you shut down and plug the video cable for your monitor/TV into the other port and reboot the computer?

You know...I'm wondering if something accidentally got reset...

I'd like you to do this:

Reboot the computer, and tap the F10 key at the blue HP splash screen in order to enter setup...

In setup, use the right arrow to move to the "Advanced" tab at the top of the screen and hit enter

Look down until you see Video, and see if it is set to "onboard" or "PCI" and let me know the setting (should be PCI)

Thanks...

Was it already there or did you have to set it to pci_ex1?
