Split from:

This thread is about The Bible and God's revelation to mankind - particularly private revelation that contradicts Scripture.

-------------

The bible itself tells us that the truth is the Lord Jesus Christ himself, how do you now say that you are looking for truth using scripture only, is the truth the scripture and not Jesus? Don't you believe the bible in that part where Jesus said He is the Truth, and.......? If you want the truth, go and get it from the Lord Jesus Christ himself. But if you want opinions and ideas of your fellow men, then let us talk ghosts and aliens by what we know from the bible. But can you please define first ghosts and that of aliens for us to understand your take on these two words in particular.

Sanh, the topic of thread is ghosts and aliens. It's not a bad thing to search for truth and ask questions. Try not to assume things. Yes, I believe Jesus is the truth, and by using scripture we can know if ghosts and aliens exist or not. Thus, the topic at hand. I shared my beliefs in the OP. Shalom, David. :)

So, if you believe Jesus is the truth, then it follows that we can get the truth about aliens and ghosts from the Lord Jesus himself, doesn't it? How can the bible give you the truth about ghosts and aliens when the bible is a book that in itself does not speak as we humans do? All that we can say here if we use the bible as the basis for this topic is nothing but different interpretations and opinions via bible verses and most likely than not, disagreement will surely crop up even we are using the same verses of the bible as our basis of discussion.
If not from the Bible, how does Jesus pass on the truth to us?

How does this work with such truths as 2+2=4?

Jesus himself, as in the days of the old and the new, comes down to those people today who come to and call on in Him truly and teach them the truth they need so that those people who truly seek Him may know from the Lord the way to their salvation and the knowledge about God.

When you say "comes down" are referring to something like the Holy Spirit or something more direct?

The latter is the one that is accurate.

Thank you.

I will admit the problem I see with this view is what is to be done when two people claim Jesus told them two conflicting things?

How is one to know which is right?

Do you think that a humans own prejudice might cloud their judgement in this area. I have known a couple of men who have stated Jesus told them to leave their wives and marry another woman.

Without turning to the written word of God, how does one determine if they are correct?

1.  When two people claim Jesus told them two conflicting things, the one who is from Jesus will surely go back to the Lord Jesus to ask and seek from Him the truth about the other claim.

2.  Surely, humans own prejudice will cloud their judgment in this area. What is best is to always come to Jesus and seek from Him His own advice on the issue and the art of waiting for the Lord to respond to our call is a must in this area of concern.

3.  It is only by and through the Lord Jesus that one may determine if he is correct or not.

So then it is totally possible that Jesus himself told these men to abandon their wives and marry other women....even though such a thing would contradict the written Word of God?

What I know is that Jesus is real and alive and He is not selfish to tell the truth to those who truly seek Him. We have learned from the Lord that a man should only take one woman for his wife unto death and in that regard, I doubt those men's claim that Jesus told them to abandon their wives and marry other women. Since the bible is not the Lord God, it doesn't follow always that what is contradictory to the bible is contradictory to God, too.

So then I guess there are many Apostles at work in the world today seeing as we have all these people that have had and continue to have a personal revelation of the Son of God

that basically makes the Bible obsolete.

That explains many things.

I hope I have that wrong, buuuuut...that is how it appears to read.,

Since the bible is not the Lord God, it doesn't follow always that what is contradictory to the bible is contradictory to God, too.

Ah yes.  Much clearer now.  Thank you.

Is it me, or has the op been hijacked and is now on its way to never land?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
