See post #1 and #2 on this thread. The discussion moved on from breastfeeding. Therefor why this post was split. Understand?

It is not meant to be finger pointing. Instead, it is meant to be self-reflective of our own attitudes. Sometimes I at least know I don't like to check my motivation when "standing for truth" from my perspective. Sevenseas I think hit a nerve at least with me on her post and in particular this question...

When did we decide that the outside is more important than the inside?

I think sometimes at least my motivation is simply to prove someone wrong, stand up for what I percieve as an injustice, etc. When in reality my motivation should be love and concern for those around me. Balancing love and truth is key.

Not pointing fingers Bo. Evaluating my own heart.

God bless,

GE

E. How a mother feeds her baby is not the issue.  The issue is how we react.

It's difficult enough to change me, myself and I...how many laws are in the books?  We have them, BECAUSE somebody somewhere or a bunch of somebodies somewhere, wanted to effect CHANGE in the behavior of others.

I could go on...but really, the Bible deals with these things.  We can take it to heart or keep on talking and feeling bad

Personal choices

Thanks GE  ... we all really need to make an effort at understanding things...doesn't mean excusing sin or failing to recognize it, but STOP the backbiting and criticism of things that you can't do anything about.

There was that expression some time back "Smile!"  It used to bug me, but there may be a tad of truth to it LOL!

How we react is key I agree. We can't change others but we do have a choice as to our own attitudes.

I think this is key in bold sister. ;) Criticism and backbiting on things we can't do anything about... Yup.

God bless,

GE

How are we going to get into MORE finger pointing?

The Christian needs to STOP pointing fingers.  That is the ENTIRE diversion from the other thread.

The Christian really cannot keep on assigning blame to others.  This is something Christians need to work on.

It's really not at all confusing.  We all have the opportunity to allow the Holy Spirit to change us from the INSIDE OUT...comparing ourselves to the world is contradictory to how we are to live.

It is easy to fall into bad habits; making excuse for our behavior, blaming others, making the obvious observance that someone somewhere is worse so we are not so bad

But, is that how we justify our faith?  By comparison to others?  Does that let US off the hook?  Should we be disgusted with how others who do not know salvation dress?

What is the standard for a Christian?  Complaining or are we supposed to love others?  How do we love others, especially those we wish would step off the edge of the world?

I have asked all those questions and more.  We must realize that the only thing we change is our own self.  The Bible is clear on how to judge and even graciously includes the

fact that we are NOT to judge the world.

Pay some attention to the Psalms and to Proverbs and even Ecclesiastes...those books are full of instruction and the painful thrashing of things that bother most people, expressed

through the voices of David, Solomon and others.

You know what I think is the bottom line?  We simply need to be honest with ourselves and allow our hearts to be examined and be willing to change, not because others are right, but

because we want to accept the instruction of God who has spoken to us through the words of those who have gone before, died in the faith, and left behind wisdom and experience

that is ours to take hold of and make use of.  We never have to struggle alone...the Holy Spirit is more than willing to take the spirit of one who is sincere and desires change in the

'inward parts' as the Bible describes them, through the Bible and convict and restore where we have fallen and encourage each step of growth.

I certainly have not arrived and I apply every word to myself.  Christians need to get real with themselves, their God and understand things will get worse.  If you think it is bad now,

how will you stand when or if the time should come for you to do so?  Will you retreat?  Put a bag over your head?  Deny knowing the Lord?

I only want to encourage...I am sad when I look at myself...never mind anyone else.  So please don't think I see myself outside of any of this, because I do not.

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom  Psalm 90:12

Show me, LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.  Psalm 39:4

Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.

8Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing. 9For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land.…  Psalm 37

For wrath kills the foolish man, and envy slays the silly one.  Job 5:2

You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.  Matt 7:5

Take this attitude about the modesty and practices of the unsaved and apply it to homosexuality. Still like the outcome?

Interesting sister. The attitude about modesty and the practices of the unsaved...

I'm not sure I follow how this applies to homosexuality? Please explain further?

Lots of people go around looking for reasons to be offended, especially Christians.  Looking for a reason to be offended is just as bad an act as the offensive act itself

I would tend to agree with you brother.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
