Will antichrist literally make an agreement with perhaps Israel and the middle east? (Daniel 9:27)

"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week and in the mid week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease and for the overspreading of abominations shall be the one who makes desolate, even until the consummation and that which is determined is poured out on the desolator" (DANIEL 9:27)

*** for future reference, the type of brackets "<" and ">" have been replaces with "[" and "]" ***

The 'weeks of years' reference comes from Mosaic law.

One day in seven was to be a day of rest and prayer.   Seven days is a week of days.  As the Hebrews went along they found ways to subvert God's principle.

One year in seven was to be a year of rest for the ground.  Seven years was a week of years.  As the Hebrews went along they found ways to subvert the law.

One year in seven weeks of years was to be a time of renewal.  It was called the Year of Jubilee.   But as the Hebrews went along they failed to observe it.

The seventh day in the week was to be reserved for renewal. The seventh year in a week of years was to be a year of rest and refreshment for the land.  The Year of Jubilee was to be a time when debts were forgiven, leased land returned to its original owner or family and servants set free from their obligations to their masters.

Some believe that Hebrew/Jewish failure to observe the sabbaths in whatever form they were assigned, especially the Year of Jubilee, was God's ultimate reason for destruction of the nation.  There was also a small matter of adulterous and traitorous acceptance of foreign gods, lasciviousness and debauchery (kind of like America today).

I submit to the reader that a personal study of this mysterious Year of Jubilee will turn up some interesting suppositions.   For example, the last Year of Jubilee was said to have happened in 1968.  Do a study of 1968.  Planet Earth was subjected to extreme paradigm shifts in culture, finance, politics and the direction of the future of humanity in 1968.  In America Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. as well as Bobby Kennedy was assassinated.   In Europe the entire government of France collapsed.  In an ironic turn of events French President Charles deGaulle fled to Germany to organize the rebuilding of the government.  A quarter century earlier the same man had fled to England to organize the rebuilding of the government because it had fallen to German invasion.   In Viet Nam the Tet Offense got underway and became the turning point of the American war in SouthEast Asia.  The list goes on and on and I'd be glad to share it with anyone who is interested.

1968 was a horrendous year for human civilization on planet earth.  Everything literally changed that year.

But the Year of Jubilee happens every 7th week of 7 years.   Do the math.   Add 49 (or 50) to 1968.

A caution must be inserted here......

Is the Year of Jubilee an extra 50th year or just the last year in the cycle of 49? Our problem with the Year of Jubilee is that precise calculations are difficult.  OT scripture is unclear as to when the Year of Jubilee is to be observed. Does it occur on the 49th year - the last year of the cycle - or on the first year of the next cycle of 49?  Or is there an extra year, making 50?  If all annual calculations are based on multiples of seven, then an extra year would throw everything off.    Arguments seem to go both ways.  Either way I think any discussion of groups of seven years, per the Daniel prophesy, ought to include calculations of the Year of Jubilee.

The Year of Jubilee is based of weeks of years, as is Daniel's prophesy.  I think a study of it would be efficacious to any student of prophesy (considering the next occurrence of Jubilee is so close).

and that's just me, hollering from the choir loft....
