"For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God."

Who is creation and the sons of God they are referring too.

When does the revealing happen, at rapture?

sons of God references before the resurrection of Jesus were referring to the angels, but after Jesus rose and we could be spiritually born as sons of God it can also refer to born again Christians

it is my opinion it is speaking of us.

Rom 8:18-25

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. 23 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. 24 For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one also hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

Like Other One said the Sons of God are believers. Creation is all compassing and includes the angels and a personified universe I think.

This revealing takes place when Jesus returns.

Heb 9:27-28  Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,  (28)  so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Blessings DRS,

I believe it is true what other one & ninhao have said but ALSO as it is in full context I think the revealing of the sons of God is as it says"the promise of redemption of our bodies"...which I take it as being us & given our glorious new bodies....boy,thats exciting!

Yes Kwik great observation !

1Co 15:51-53  Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed--  (52)  in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.  (53)  For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

Blessings ninhao.

I have an interesting question.

I've seen this scripture before.

Does the 'last trumpet' refer to the Feast of Trumpets event in Hebrew calendar or no.

It can't be the seven trumpets in tribulation, because those seven only occur after rapture.

The trumpet blast signifies the appearance of God.

Exo 19:16-17  On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled.  (17)  Then Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

I'm not sure about this connection with the feast of trumpets because that is a Jewish Holy Day which represents a call to repentance ? I don't know much about this sorry.

All Creation - Non rational portion of the created order either living or nonliving.  Read: "all nature."

The "sons of God refers to us, redeemed humanity (as opposed to those who choose to die separated from God).

The revealing refers to the time when we realize the final aspect of our redemption, namely when sin is eradicated and we have our glorified bodies.

No, that's a good answer. I don't know much about the Jewish calendar either. Thank you everyone. OP makes more sense to me now. Blessings all.

All creation means all that was created... for the purpose of gleaning from humanity those who would be adopted sons and daughters of God through faith in the Messiah Jesus who died on the cross and rose from the dead our debts to pay.

The reveal will be IMHO when the general resurrection happens and all bow the knee to Jesus and then the sheep are separated from the goats. Then only will all know for sure who the sons of God are.

The rapture, when properly understood, will be a small remnant of believers that survives to the midway point of the 70th week of Daniel.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
