Bump! hehe

I'm sorry to bump such an old thread but I wasn't allowed to post a new one. :24:

Anyway, I've had some strange noises in my house over the past few nights. I live in a 2 story house and my room is in the lower story. My dad's is on the 2nd story. I use his laptop upstairs at night when he goes to bed. When I'm using it I hear noises coming from the kitchen and the downstairs. I hear the blinds rustling, not to loud but I can distinctly tell it's the blinds. Downstairs I hear what sounds like the dryer door opening and shutting every few minutes or so. The funny thing is that when I work up the courage to go downstairs and explore what it is, the noise stops!

When I go back upstairs, it starts again! :24:

It's really a creepy deal and it's been keeping me up all night for a few days now. I guess I'm playing into the devils hands by being creeped out, but I honestly can't help it. My faith in God remains strong and no demon will take that from me!

Luckily, I haven't had a visual encounter of any kind, I might have a heart attack if that were to happen. I'm going to pray to God about this, he might have an answer for me.

Anyway, just wanted to share this creepy deal with you.

Matthew 14:25-27 25 During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."

Luke 24:36-40 36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." 37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.38 He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." 40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.

:b: Jesus knew that there were Ghost's or evil spirits that would confuse us.

I don't believe in ghosts or spirits that roam the earth.

I'm not too sure what to believe. I never seen any ghosts before. It would make sense though that if people see angels that they could also see demons. I have two stories that were told to me from my english and spanish teacher.

1) This was a story that I'm wondering if it really happened or not. Back when my spanish teacher had a girlfriend in high school, his girlfriend said that at late at night, she decided to go to bed. As she started to go up the stairs, she seen a child going down the stairs. (there was nobody in the house, and she had no younger sisters or brothers) This child's face, though, was completely black, as if the baby's face had been on fire! Immediately, she ran out of the house. When they were tearing down the stairs (they were moving away), they found a child's doll with its face completely black! My spanish teacher also said that when he went over to her house once, late at night, when everything was quiet, he could seriously hear doctors asking for different instruments in an operation!

2) This story I can more easily believe. It came from my english teacher. One late night, her sister (who I had as a teacher in elementary school) had a slumber party with one of her friends (at about the age of 8). Outside of their room was a long hallway. When the two girls looked out to the hallway, they found this little girl with a flower dress, staring angrily at them (like in those horror movies, how you see their head down, and with their eyes staring right at the other person). Despite all they did, which wasn't much (cover their heads with the blanket, closing their door, etc.), the girl wouldn't go away. Eventually, they closed their eyes and went past the ghost (staying close to the wall). They then reached my english teacher's room, where for the next hour they cried.

Ok, so I LOVE watching Ghost Hunters (a show that comes on the SciFi channel here in the states-for those of you who live outside of my range and don't get to see it).

They are cool because instead of going into to a place that has claims to be haunted and finding things that they can use to try to prove the haunting...instead, they go in and try to disprove the haunting...which is usually what ends up happening.

Now, awhile back when I was watching the show they actually described the different types of "ghosts" we might end up coming in contact with. I don't remember them all now, I'd have to look them up. But it's something to do with a presense that continues when something tragic has happened (like a murder or suicide). There are also "orbs" that are supposed to be energy. And then there are "real hauntings" or "interactive hauntings" that usually end up being evil. But they have never said that they believe the "ghosts" are dead people walking around the house.

Every now and then they do come in contact with a demonic possession...which they absolutely refuse to deal with. Which I think is rather big of them. They have made comments before that they just don't feel like they have a calling to go in and rid a house of a demon. So, they usually call in a minister who is trained in exorcisms and blessings and all that. He comes in and holds a service in the house. And usually he tells the person who owns the house that if they don't believe in the power of God...they should think about moving on.

That also makes me think about the Amityville House, which the owners claimed to have been haunted. They went on to write a book and several movies have been made about the events in the house. This is one of those houses that probably had something from the demonic world inside...the owners have actually gone back in interviews and said that they were participating in religious acts that were unusual and that probably opened the doors to the Devil. (They were practicing levitation rituals and the like).

So...all that to say, I don't believe in "ghosts" per say...such as dead people roaming the planet because God has decided they aren't ready to be home yet...but I do believe that people have experiences that can not be readily explained by an overactive imagination. I enjoy watching tv about hauntings and reading about hauntings...I think it's a mysterious world we live in...however, not going to become too obssessed with it because I think alot of it comes from people delving into something they should not be involved in.

Oh, and I've had my experience with "other worldy phenomenon." :21:

These so-called experts in this TV show are just plain ignorant in their dalliances. All manifestations are demonic! The devil is just toying with them, and allowing them to spread his ignorance around.

We need to avoid such interest in these things. Interest in the occult is an open door. We need to know about them, only in order to be free of them, but if you are interested, get yourself a book written by a Christian, not a secular TV show which is going to glorify this stuff, and tell lies.

Uhm...did you read my post?

I enjoy watching the show because it is the only "ghost hunting tv show" that does not go into a supposed "haunted" place and say "this place is haunted let's find ridiculous evidence that we can trick people with." Nope, they go into a place and say "let's find anything and everything possible that shows people there are other explanations for a "ghost" such as a window that has come unlatched and makes banging noises...or headlights from outside that are reflecting and moving along the wall in an odd fashion." I do not like the tv shows that show people going in with a camera and saying that a chair that is moving proves that there is a ghost haunting the house. I don't buy it.

Also I said that they do not believe in "ghosts" per say. They believe that most hauntings that interact with people (such as a manifestations, or audible noises, or physically moving objects) are actually demonic possessions. They believe it is evil and usually call in a minister to help with the situation. And yes, as I mentioned before, I believe that people can have experiences, but if they become obssessed with them, they are probably delving a bit too much in the dark side of things.

In reference to the Amytiville House, I also said that if you were to go back and listen to interviews they admit to doing things that probably opened a door into a demonic world...which was the true cause of the "haunting" and not just a bunch of angry spirits.

Once again, I do not think I believe in "ghosts" but I do believe that people have experiences that can not be explained away by an overactive imagination.

This is actually a subject I deal quite frequently in (and in fact, my web-based evangelism pretty much revolves around it).

I should state at this point that I don't believe in ghosts. I do, though, believe that demonic forces take on many, many forms, depending on what they are trying to accomplish, and with whom they are dealing. Demons are real. I've dealt with them, and have seen what they can do. I've seen their "ghostly" manifestations.

When looking at "spirit phenomena" it is always best to examine their message: nine times out of ten, if somebody "talks" to a "ghost", that ghost will fairly quickly subvert biblical teachings (by talking about the 'afterlife' for example). It may be pretending to be a harmless little girl, or even your grandfather... but it -is- a demon in disguise. God doesn't allow people to come back from "beyond" to share messages (refer to Jesus' story of Lazarus and the rich man)... and certainly not to haunt (the SOLE exception being the spirit of Solomon who God allowed to appear to Saul to pronounce judgement).

A warning to anyone reading: Do not dabble; and don't approach this subject lightly. It's easy to mock the supernatural (ghosts, etc.), but demons are real and they will do whatever is necessary to keep people away from the Truth of God.

For non Christians paranormal research and the can be a fascinating thing, there are plenty of people who want to prove the existence of ghosts or to determine what is causing certain activity in a location through proper scientific observation and analysis, others go about the task in a more occult spiritualist way through likes of medium ship, s

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
