No because I don't believe in a millennial Kingdom on earth. Why would God go back to a system where the blood of bulls and goats atoned for sin after his son had already been offered as a sacrifice which the bible says is once and for all? If the bible says it is a once and for all sacrifice, then why should we believe God would go back on his work and reinstitute an old system of sacrifices which is null and void.

No. There would be no reason for it.

Not sure, it's interesting the temple in Ezekiel 40-47 mentions a whole new temple set up, tribe arrangement, and sacrifice system after it refers to His coming in Ezekiel 38-39. Also, the end of Zechariah 14, right after Jesus comes and judges the nations, shows that those left of the nations after the wrath of God, will come to Jerusalem year by year to keep the feast of booths. I believe that those on the outside during Christ's thousand year reign will be under a different covenant that we are. We will be cool, covered, and set in Christ, but to them He's going to rule with a rod if iron. What's crazy is they're going to be deceived again when the devil is let loose after the thousand years, which is pretty good proof it's going to be on earth also.

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.  5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.  6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Zechariah 14:16 And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.  17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain.  18 If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the Lord strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.  19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.

Revelation 20:7 Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison  8 and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.  9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.  10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Yes, scripture in Ez 43, describes the Millenial Temple and sacrifices.

Ez 43:

18 And He said to me, “Son of man, thus says the Lord [a]God, ‘These are the statutes for the altar on the day it is built, to offer burnt offerings on it and to sprinkle blood on it. 19 You shall give to the Levitical priests who are from the offspring of Zadok, who draw near to Me to minister to Me,’ declares the Lord God, ‘a young bull for a sin offering. 20 You shall take some of its blood and put it on its four horns and on the four corners of the ledge and on the border round about; thus you shall cleanse it and make atonement for it. 21 You shall also take the bull for the sin offering, and it shall be burned in the appointed place of the house, outside the sanctuary.

22 ‘On the second day you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering, and they shall cleanse the altar as they cleansed it with the bull. 23 When you have finished cleansing it, you shall present a young bull without blemish and a ram without blemish from the flock. 24 You shall present them before the Lord, and the priests shall throw salt on them, and they shall offer them up as a burnt offering to the Lord. 25 For seven days you shall prepare daily a goat for a sin offering; also a young bull and a ram from the flock, without blemish, shall be prepared. 26 For seven days they shall make atonement for the altar and purify it; so shall they [b]consecrate it. 27 When they have completed the days, it shall be that on the eighth day and onward, the priests shall [c]offer your burnt offerings on the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you,’ declares the Lord God.”

Yes,  there will be animal sacrifices in the millenium and Ezekiel 40-48 bear this out.  There will be no sin offering for the purpose of atoning for human sins in the millenial temple and the passage in Ezekiel bears that out.

It is not a return to the Mosaic system as there are too many elements of the Mosaic system that are not included. But the Bible is clear that there will be a literal thousand year millennium and a functioning temple and levitical priesthood and a sacrifical system in that temple.  There is no way around the plain reading of the text.

I agree with everything you said.  It appears that just as we moved from the OT covenant to the NT covenant, we will be under a completely different system during the millenial reign.  Do you have any thoughts on why there will be a need for animal sacrifice?  I will admit that this is something that has been perplexing to me.

Greetings shiloh357, and blessings on this Sunday. Questions. Correct me if I'm wrong and I might be....

I had read somewhere that the whole purpose of the 1,000 year reign with Christ is to clean up the old earth to get it ready for the New Jerusalem and New Earth. If that's true, then isn't this new temple spoken of in Ez 40-48 in heaven?...... being that the rapture and the second coming already has taken place?? I'm just a little confused of where we will spend the 1,000 years. Does scripture clear that up for us? And after the 1,000 years is ended Satan will be released for a little while, for one final battle against Jesus Christ... (Rev 20:7-8 And when the thousand years are finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 and shall come forth to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.)

The great tribulation period ends with the battle of Armageddon.  After Satan and his army is defeated, and Satan is locked up for 1000 years, we enter the millenial reign of Christ.  This take place on earth.  At the end of the millenial reign of Christ, Satan is loosed for a short period of time, and he recruits another army to go against Christ and the saints.  He is destroyed, and then comes the new heaven and new earth.

I'm just curious of where exactly we will reign for a 1,000 years with Christ. For example, I live in Delaware. :biggrin2:

...and I think a 1,000 years isn't a 1,000 earth years if I remember correctly. Interesting topic.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
