Okay..... I was talking to my cousin yesterday and he asked me to look up the word hell in the bible as well as look up the word that it was translated from in Hebrew and Greek.  He asked that I prove that there is a hell.  Now I do believe that there is a hell and that any one who do not believe in Jesus will go there.  If any one knows any thing about the word hell in Hebrew or Greek any information would help.

He is a Christian but he doesn't believe that a loving God would send any one to a place like hell.  I for one don't believe that either.  I believe that God gave us a way out of going to hell and it's up to us to choose.

God Bless You

Jacqueline,

you are right, it is our choice..... we either have Christ in our hearts ( by our own choosing ) or we do not have Christ in our hearts ( again, by our own choosing )

God did give us a way out, there is only ONE WAY, and that is thru Christ Jesus. with out Christ Jesus, there is no way to the Father......

would God send a good person to hell???? no, but then again, there are none that are good, save the Father..... every one else deserves hell, but thru Jesus, we all have hope, we all have salvation available to us....

we are either for Christ, or against Christ.... there is no middle ground.... those in the middle are lost to Christ.....

I think that GOD receives us into paradise... and if we make mistakes there, or dishonour him, well, he threats us a bit like Lucifer and he sends us to hell.

I hope thats how its working.

But between you and me, Jesus could've been a bit clearer on the subject.  :noidea:

But I dont believe in lakes of fire... actually, its an oxymoron.

re read...

have you ever seen a volcano? the lava flow is very much as a lake of fire, the only differance is that i believe the lake of fire is more like the fire of the burning bush, never consuming the fuel ( those that are case into it ), only heating it up quite well.....

hell is real, as real as God Himself, as real as you, as real as me. as real, if not more so, then that computer that you are typing on.....

hell was not intended to house mankind, hell was set aside for the fallen angels, however, mankind will partake in this reward of the burning lake of fire.....

The spirit in man was created to live forever in the presence of God; but God can

not be in the presence of sin !

So if you believe, follow, and obey; He will receive you as a son ! He died that you might be bought by His precious sacrifice; to be born once again, but this time into His Spiritual family!

Hell was created for all the demons that fell, but for all those that choose to follow their own way; and rebel as Lucifer did !

Lucifer and his fallen angels can now roam the earth except those not released yet!

They torture and add to the suffering of those in Hell at this time ; but one day Lucifer, his angels, and all unbelievers will be cast into the Lake of Fire!

Now this is not a fire that burns out , but burns supernaturally spiritual beings that never die forever and ever ! Other wise if the spirit could be destroyed like the flesh it would last but a minute!

Some groups say that the fire will only burn for awhile ,and then your just uncreated; if so you preaching of the Gospel is of little effect ! For those who have never known God or tasted of spiritual things, would gladly live for themselves, and just pass on!

But God made the penalty so very high that by what ever means He might turn as many as that will turn to righteousness: and that the rest would receive the same judgement as the angels that sinned !

Rev.20:10-15;

10Then the devil who had led them astray [deceiving and seducing them] was hurled into the fiery lake of burning brimstone, where the beast and false prophet were; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (through the ages of the ages).

11Then I saw a great white throne and the One Who was seated upon it, from Whose presence and from the sight of Whose face earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.

12I [also] saw the dead, great and small; they stood before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged (sentenced) by what they had done [their whole way of feeling and acting, their aims and endeavors] in accordance with what was recorded in the books.

13And the sea delivered up the dead who were in it, death and Hades ([c]the state of death or disembodied existence) surrendered the dead in them, and all were tried and their cases determined by what they had done [according to their motives, aims, and works].

14Then death and Hades ([d]the state of death or disembodied existence) were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

15And if anyone's [name] was not found recorded in the Book of Life, he was hurled into the lake of fire.

Agape; Ephraim.

Hi Jacqueline, This is a topic that God has been dealing with me about. You are your cousin are right...God doesn't not send us to hell but we can send ourselves by rejecting His son Jesus. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by Me". I have a friend who is a christian and says Hell does not exist, rather if we are not christians we just die and go out into nothing...that is a false teaching and is very dangerous. It gives people an excuse for not accepting the gift that God gave to us in the form of His Son Jesus. I don't know much about the word Hell from the greek but I do know hell is a place reserved for those who choose not to follow Christ. It has been said that if every believer could get a glimpse of hell for just a split second we would be beating peoples doors down warning them about it. I agree. Remember we will spend eternity with Jesus as christians, but those who do not follow Christ will spend eternityty in a place that the Bible calls outer darkness, a place of torment where the flame is not quenched and the worm does not die. This cannot be sugar coated as my friend does. It needs to be preached just as the word describes it and ask the Holy Spirit to do His work in the lives of those we love that are lost before it's to late.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
