Check out these headlines from WorldNetDaily:

New York Mayor David Bloomberg now refers to the giant Christmas tree in the city as a holiday tree

I wonder how long it will take before Christmas is banned in this country.

warm regards

Its only a pagan holiday if you think it is. I celebrate Christ in defiance of this holidays origins. I am also of a mind that GOD made this ONCE pagan holiday into something pleasing to him and I will rejoice evermore because I know with him all things are possible. I do and will continue to pray that in all I do in suffering and in joy I may play a part in and witness HIS glory.

God Bless you and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I think you have this wrong. God didn't capture this holiday the church (man) did

and with the same idea that you have to To bring the poor pagans into the fold.

My kids were all raised on Santa, jolly ole' soul that he is, and two of them are grown now, and strong Christians and I assure you they believe in and worship the exsistence of Jesus.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 - "For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (4)They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That's one heck of a stretch there, friend. ;)

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I don't think so. It's a man made tradition, with pagan origins. You won't find this tradition in the Bible. Jesus disciples never practiced this tradition.

It's a sad thing, when you realize that for many lost souls, this is the only day they will come to Church. And instead of using this golden opportunity to share the truth of the gospel, our churches feed them this myth. They usually will not be back, but yet they believe they have done their duty, just because they went to church, but it really wasn't church they went to, it was a church practicing idolatry.

You may think there's no harm done, but have you stopped to consider how many millions who only go to church on this one day of the year, yet they never get to here the truth. And this goes on every year. What a shame.

Those who are desperately trying to keep Christ in Christmas are deceived, because He was never in it to begin with, NEVER.

It should be a dead give away, when we see almost the whole world doing this. But God commanded us to come out of the world.

IMO, Rollin', you are indeed stretching it far, and you also paint with a very wide brush. I hope you don't make these blanket judgements of people in all areas of your life, as they are very unfair.

You won't find this tradition in the Bible.
No, I won't. Not every thing I do is found in the Bible. You are implying that we can only do things that are in the Bible, since that is the only criteria for them to be acceptable. My life includes a lot of things that aren't in the Bible. It really doesn't bother me that it's a "man made" tradition. I'm sure if you looked around in your life, you will see all kind of 'man made' traditions you do in your family that aren't in the Bible.

Easy now, Sister. I know this is a very touchy subject, but please don't take this personal. I'm not taking the seat of a judge here. I'm just discussing this with the hopes that some will more closely examine why they do it.

Also, it's not that everything done in the name of christmas is so bad. I just think we need to be careful with what we join our Lord's name to. Without realizing it, we are forcing Christ into pagan traditions and even lies. But Christ has no part with what is taking place in the spirit and name of christmas.

A broad brush, perhaps. Especially when it seems that everyone is doing it, but most of these really don't know why, or where this all came from. No one ever questions it because the family traditions just keep going. Just as you said, your kids were raised this way, me too. That's why it took so long for me to finally see the light.

I really don't have much more that I care to say about this, except that it is a very difficult tradition to stop. You would not believe how hard it is to get your outside family to accept and respect your wishes to no longer participate in this. It took about 3 or 4 years before everyone realized that we were dead serious about it. They kept trying to force it on us. They kept saying how guilty they felt for not getting us anything.

Grace and peace to you!

:noidea: Just remember that you may have "seen the light", but that there may not be any darkness in someone's life if they haven't seen that same light. :noidea:

I have heard from friends who are where you are with this, who have said the same thing - that their families mock it and try to push it on them anyway. I'm sure that's very hard - been there is other issues that I've taken a stand on.

Grace and peace to you!

Back 'atcha brother! :24:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
