As I sit at my computer I can look at a musical picture that a dear friend bought me. It's a picture of a seagull standing quietly on a beach. The caption reads,

"Before you go to bed give all your troubles to God...He's going to be up all night anyway." I will be brutally honest here, I have a hard time letting go. It's tough to give up control in our lives. But I had to learn this lesson the hard way. I have always been someone who trys to figure out how to handle my problems. In the last few years I have had on ongoing one with my husband. I would lay in bed at night not sleeping and worrying about the outcome of some of his decisions. To make a long story short, this landed me in the hospital with a bleeding ulcer that came very close to killing me. Weak and sick I had no choice but to let God take over, and you know what? I found out He was much better at solving my dilemma the I was. It's not easy as I said, and I think it's a day by day process. I have come to learn that casting my cares on Him is the only thing I can do because as my pictures says, He's going to be up all night anyway and He sees the big picture and we don't. Remember we will be in battle until He comes to take us home, but also remember He has already won the war! Praise God!

Hey Rustyangel,

I love your screen name by the way. I can so relate to what you say. I was for a long time the master of my universe. Untill I got a chronic illness, I never knew I was not trusting in God. Each day now is for me a lesson to trust in God.

Boy I sure was decieved about myself in the healthy days. I know God allowed this because I needed to learn this. When all this first started I was just mad at God. My whole life was turned upside down. Even my friends were pulled away from me. I had no choice but to turn to God fully. Its been hard, but I never would change what has happened to me , and that is harder to say on some days, but I am closer to my Lord then ever before. Thanks for your post, I needed it today.

Rusty, Amen to all of the above and that brings to my heart my favorite Psalm

1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121 (KJV)

Rustyangel,

When I read the caption to cast all your cares on Him, I thought, that is so difficult to do, honestly, it really is, for me anyway!

I guess I am now at the stage where you and charisse were at, earlier in your life, I tend to try and figure out my own problems, deal with things myself, it's not that I don't want help, it's just that I don't know how to ask Him, and then just completely let go. I've spent so long in my life being independant, looking after myself, and finding my own solutions to my problems, I know that the only answer is to completely let go, but how does one do that?

But you are absolutely correct, we should cast all our cares on Him.

Your Sister in Christ Jesus

Rusty,

Amen sweetie. Thank you for posting this for us. I really needed to read that. I have not giving things to the Lord like I should and this really helped me to stop and think about at the end of the day i need to give it to God.

Love and Prayers,

Rusty:

It's pretty common knowledge that I, also have a chronic illness and will probably undergo surgery very soon. There's a serious problem with the ovaries bilaterally and much scar tissue and bleeders (blood vessels) to operate around.

I haven't gotten the word or news YET...from the doctor.

I share in your sufferings brother...I live it one day at a time...just know you're not alone...I promise.

Yeah.........Rustyangel , we need to give it all to the LORD.

He wants us to depend on HIM.

He is ready to help us through all of our problems.

Sometimes I don't talk to HIm about , them.

Now I do.

For HE says this in scripture.........

PSALM 34:17

The righteous cry out , and the LORD hears.

and delivers them out of ALL their troubles.

LOVE and PEACE to everyone, :whistling:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
