The ACLU...hmmm protects the rights of who..let's see, terrorists, rapists, child molesters, the very ones who want to take In God We Trust off our money, and One Nation Under God out of the pledge.  Sorry I don't listen to them and I'm not listening to you...  I like it...Anti Christ Liers Union  I'm also concerned about the rights of Americans but don't kid yourself the ACLU could care less about rights.  They want to push their ultra liberal agenda on all Americans.  And I'm going to get very real here, I'm more concerned about our men and women that are putting their lives on the live everyday in our military then I am about the rights of the prisoners. These people who would in a heartbeat kill us if they could are getting lawyers paid by us the tax payers.  Our prisoners in other wars didn't get that.  Ask John McCain who spent close to 6 years in a Vietnam prison camp or any American who spent time in prison in a foreign country while we were at war.  Know what I find interesting?  all the ones speaking against this war, our president what this country does....has never spent one day in uniform.  I have never been in the military, but I come from a long line of veterans, grandfather, father and huaband.  Hero's every one of them. But you know what?  Because of their sacrifice you are allowed to say these things.  If you were from Iraq or Afganistian they would cut out your tongue, Think about it.

War Crimes

Thursday, December 23, 2004; Page A22

THANKS TO a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union and other human rights groups, thousands of pages of government documents released this month have confirmed some of the painful truths about the abuse of foreign detainees by the U.S. military and the CIA -- truths the Bush administration implacably has refused to acknowledge. Since the publication of photographs of abuse at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison in the spring the administration's whitewashers -- led by Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld -- have contended that the crimes were carried out by a few low-ranking reservists, that they were limited to the night shift during a few chaotic months at Abu Ghraib in 2003, that they were unrelated to the interrogation of prisoners and that no torture occurred at the Guantanamo Bay prison where hundreds of terrorism suspects are held. The new documents establish beyond any doubt that every part of this cover story is false.

How dose one pull his pantlegs up on the internet?

Well, this is definetly a topic that I can reply to! Yes war sucks we all agree with that. BUT IT HAPPENS! So many people have judgement on the military and how we handle pow or what not but, until you have experienced up close and personal the type of chaos and troublesome that is occuring with the war, please stop putting judgement on the military. It sickens me to know that I signed a contract and endured months of training to protect a country and ALL of it's people when I hear that military people torture, and kill. Not all of us do it out of pleasure! Yes, I would kill if the time called for it. God knows me and what i'm about and He would forgive me. I have a duty to all of you reguardless if you like it or not. So, all of you people that hate the war and everything about it-go to a different country or something. Quit bashing things that you obviously have no clue about.

OOHRAH! (i'm not directing this at anyone in particular)

I stand with my brothers and sisters who say that these terrorists have no rights and I mean NO RIGHTS. May I remind you that the soldiers they captured at the beginning of this war, shot in the back of the heads then shown on TV for their families to see? Do you really think that these monsters don't want to come over here and go after anyone of us, including you? I will say it again, I would rather fight them on their soil then here. You make it sound like because you didn't' support this war your going to get out of being judged...guess again.

I am amazed at the post here. Many of the replies to mdulin have been very well thought out.

I do have something to point out about this being a "just " War though. On 9-11 we were attacked and everyone was crying out for vengence. The government meanwhile was investigating who was responsible for the attack and who was supporting the attackers. When to the satisfaction of those investigation officials they identified the parties responsible we started tracking down these dirtbags. This includes anyone who is in cuba too. They are there because prelimary findings showed that there was probabl cause and so they were detained so they could not carry out any plans or attacks while the investigation continues.

You speak of abuses there. Well they are given food according to their religious dietary requirements (and plentiful at that) They are wearing what they are allowed to by their faith in most cases and jumpers for those who had no problems about wearing them. They are allowed to pray to their Mecca the required number of times per day and even have signs pointing to Mecca so they can be positioned the right way. They are given medical care (some were sick when they were picked up and also had vermin) In short they have it pretty comfortable and don't have to worry about having their throats slit in the grisley fashion we have been seeing among the terrorist tapes viewed. Yes they are interrogated. Most do not cooperate and that is why they are still there others do cooperate with encouragement.

As to the government of Saddam Hussien. What about the murder of people who were not in favor of the government? The Sunnis? and others who were killed because they were considerd expendable. Saddam used chemical weapons on his own people traces of which were still on the bones and bodies left in mass graves. People disappeared and family members were left not knowing the fate of their loved ones. Women raped, aid intended to help the people confiscated by the elite and redirected to line the pockets and benifit the upper class. What about the children who were imprisioned? These children were as young as 7 according tot he news. What crime could a 7 year old do to the government?

As to Jose Padilla, he was arrested after teh government investigated and found he had ties to terrorist groups. As far as I am concerned the "rights" of one individual do not mean more than the rights of innocents who may be in danger from that individual.

People blame Bush for all the wrongs real or imagined or expounded upon by the media. Yes Abu did occur and those who took part are being punished according to the law of the United States. Some still are in court and will be decided on in the future. But Bush had the backing of the congress. Not just republicans but democrats and liberals also backed us going to war and when the popular view changed they are back paddling as fast as they can. Kerry is a prime example of flip flopping. So Bush is not the only one with his hands dirty so to speak. If we don't want crooks in the government then why do we vote them in? Sheesh.

Ok I will rest from this tirade for a bit and let other voices be heard.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
