Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Psa 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. The book of Job teaches us to trust God even when we do not understand. Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

God was not cruel, He knew Job's heart.

Guest
That's ok for Job, but I'm not sure his dead children would agree... It's always bothered me that God let Satan kill his kids. Beloved, While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Job 1:18-22 Job's Children Are Not Dead He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err. Mark 12:27 And God Does Allow His Children When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, Acts 7:54-57 To Follow Their LORD And Savior And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. Acts 7:58-

Guest
they may not stay dead Joe, but at the time the Word says that they are dead.... for the rest of Job's life they did not return as far as we know. ~ Beloved Job Has And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. Job 1:2 Fourteen Children He had also seven sons and three daughters. Job 42:13 And Beloved, If One Has Trouble Not Charging God In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Job 1:22 How Ever Will He Handle This? For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me. Job 19:25-27 ~ Dear Brother Think We Will Meet His Kids? Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 1 Peter 4:12-13 Yea, Me Too Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. But I love the book of Job. I find it to be a great comfort to me. It has taught me that I can complain to God when I feel bitter about my life. Job wanted to die and at times so do I. If Job can feel that way then it is not so strange for me to feel that way too from time to to. I think the book of Job is the most beautifully written book in the Bible.
