How do you see yourself?

This is totally random but my boyfriend has been complimenting me loads (way more than I deserve) and it really hit me how strange it is that people can see someone in a totally different way to how someone else sees them. With the above for example, he's always saying how beautiful, intelligent, wonderful, amazing etc I am and I really don't see myself like that, most of the time I think I'm the opposite in fact. By the same token I think he's absolutely gorgeous etc (as do my friends!) and he doesn't think that about himself (not that it's a bad thing, I hate arrogance).

Some of the most beautiful people I know don't think they're anything special yet most people would give nearly anything to be like them.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this really, I just thought it was strange how people can see themselves (and indeed, other people) so differently.

The only exception to this is, of course, God, who loves us all equally which is the best news anyone could have: YAY!

Red, I am married to one of those lovely, bright, smart and thoughtful Ladies who thinks she is just a plain person with no special skills. I agree with your post completely. It is mind boggling to me.

She also has very good taste in men....

Awesome it is the point of view of which others can see us through, is it not? Though sometimes it can make one ponder what it is that is seen within ourselves as well as God huh? Guess it truly deppends on the person...right?

My best friend of four or more years, as well as husband and confidant feels that though many a trial comes my direction that my strength is something of which God is continuously trying to build up. At the same time, though it is difficult to believe myself at times he tries to encourage me in the hopes that my point of view of myself might come to change.

Honestly...God has sent me an angel to spend the rest of my life with. Though he may not be perfect, he was the perfect fit for me. Though others may not think too highly of me in regards to previous mistakes that have been made. Then again...we all fall short right.
