Joy does not. Joy is being anchored in Christ and knowing that what ever storm is raging in your life , you will remain steadfast in Him. He takes pleasure in us when we come to depend on Him in all things, in every way, with our whole being, trusting, obeying, loving Him and loving others like we love ourselves. God wants us to be Holy. If we have reached a point of spiritual maturity that we feel happy by behaving Holy, then that's great, and I think God likes that. But if being happy means committing no end of sins, then no, God doesn't want that. And maybe Victoria doesn't mean this, but when we think we come first, not God, this is how we end up. I don't think his comment has anything to do with this video ...... one of his parents was a Methodist and the other a Baptist. He had a Christian upbringing.... Seldom do they read from the Bible. I have seen them a few times and although the stories are sort of interesting they don't hit home in my heart so I don't watch them no mo. All that we do is to please God... not ourselves. And Jesus was not happy when He led His Fathers earthy ministry. He was broken and determined. Him being happy would not have saved us... we are to take up our cross (which is painful) and daily follow Him. Jesus never said in His word He wanted us to be (happy). happiness comes from the world... but true joy comes from Jesus Christ. And He does not gives us the worlds happiness... but HIS joy!
