i wanna hear your views and reasons and where God is in this issue?

i personally dont go clubing because im not really into the dancing side of things to be honest.

im also aware of non Christian activities that goes on at clubs and other issues such as fights and drugs MAY HAPPEN but not Always the case!!

the verse above is an important fact ok

but

wat about some people who takes the advangage of "drink" and get wasted / drunk?

it says in the Bible not to throw wasteful parties "to get drunk"..... ?

where does this come to when Christians go out at night when there not controling their drinks?

or

People are responsible for all their actions reguardless of their soberness or where ever they are located.

For me it was a lot of fun and good company with our friends.

I got into a lot more trouble and did things I shant ever discuss, when in my youth, that I'd have been much better off somewhere dancing and even drinking lightly. But alas, this was before I met my wife and decided to grow up, and before I got serious about a relationship with the Lord.

But one must remember that everything we do and say no matter where it is, pub, church, home or on the road, we will answer for come judgement day.

Of course pubing and drinking any mind altering thing puts a person in a much greater position for disaster, and that must be taken into consideration. Also I know people who can not drink at all. Great care must be taken to not cause them to fall. The whole concept gets rather complicated because of this so we have stopped clubing altogether for thier sakes. Still have a beer with the good Mexican food or a single glass of wine with a good meal.

I used to go to a bar or club every weekend...but it has just stopped recently...Praise God for that :P But I never went to that bar or pub on my own accord...I would get the phone call to come pick up a family member...it was hard but I would walk right in...find who I needed to take home...and usually spend at least 15-30 minutes convincing them they NEEDED to go home.

I will walk into any situation to help someone, but I prefer not to "hang out" in that enviornment....Now that my hubby has informed this person that from here on out it will be him coming to take them home...they haven't called...they have also stayed out of the bars. Praise God again :)

Amen to Dr. Luke...and Rev. David :P

Love and Blessings,

Angel

I haven't the slightest interest in bars and pubs...but I won't hesitate to eat at a good steakhouse.

I agree that we can go pretty much anywhere in the Lord's service, but as someone else said, I couldn't just be there to hang out either. I definitely wouldn't feel right about it, and in that kind of atmosphere, it would be so much easier to fall into the wrong thing, ya know? The bible says to abstain from all appearances of evil, and in my opinion, there are some evil things that go on in places like that...things we shouldn't enjoy being around.

As for the drinking issue, I couldn't do that either.....but I am someone who used to have a drug problem. I alterned my mind quite often, and enjoyed it way too much before I was saved, so I stay away from stuff like that now. The bible says (and I will try to quote it right)..."wine is a mocker, and strong drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby, is not wise." Also..."And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit." Neither of those verses say DO NOT DRINK, but it is clear to me they are saying...DO NOT DRINK ENOUGH TO ALTER YOUR MIND! SO, I won't say a person is doing anything wrong in having a drink of wine or something here and there so long as they do not alter their mind, but I will NEVER do it myself. I would feel as though I was doing something wrong if I did.

GOD BLESS!

I do not think there is anything wrong with having a drink with friends.

What you have to remember is where you are in Christ.

The problem comes from what is going on in other people's minds.

If another person has a problem drinking, and sees you drinking, it could ruin your chance to witness to him. You do not want to cause anyone else to stumble.

If you are a Church Elder, then I think alcohol should not even be an option.

... Just my opinion.

I'm not really one for clubbing (though there is a rock club in the city I live in that I do go to) or for pubs (unless I have a good reason, like occassionally a pub near me has some good local bands playing) but I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Nearly everywhere you go there will be people doing things that Christian's should avoid but just because they do it doesn't mean we have too. I'm not a big drinker anyway (just an odd drink on odd occasions) but I would never touch drugs. Just being around people who are making it their aim to not remember what they did when they wake up the next morning doesn't mean you have to follow suit. If I don't want a drink I am not afraid to say no, I always say no to drugs (and it's not random people in pubs or clubs that are offering them to me, it's people I know) and no one could convince me to drink more than I want or to take something that I don't want. If you aren't strong enough to say no then it is a good idea to avoid situations where you will be put into that situation but if you can resist, I don't see that there is anything wrong with going for a night out.

I think these scriptures sum it up.

Romans 8

5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.

8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

Ga 5:16

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

In CHRIST JESUS :glare::21::):laugh:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
