God is no respecter of persons. It is the institution of marriage that the Christian is to honour by refusing to contradict what Jesus says is the truth. The institution of marriage places each lawfully married couple in the same status of Adam and Eve: one flesh until death.

The personal situation of suffering or being lonely is what may result from being faithful to Jesus. Just like in the case of a preacher in jail because he preached; he accepts the suffering as part of being a Christian. If the respect to what Jesus says brings suffering we are to accept that. He said if we do not deny ourselves we cannot be his disciples. Those who tread underfoot what Jesus said about remarriage being adultery are going to have a rude awakening when they find out how simple it all was. Just don't get remarried. If you get remarried you commit adultery like Jesus said 5 times and Paul twice. But the shock should be easy to accept because it comes with a very simple message: Jesus meant exactly what he said: Paul meant exactly what he said. Remarriage is adultery and adulterers shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Instead of insisting that the Bible says something is does not really say...ie no divorce no matter WHAT....it would be SO refreshing to read a defense of what the Bible

actually does say about how  a husband should act and how a woman should respond, instead of misinterpreting the Bible and representing marriage like a living

death sentence that really nobody, wants a part of.

Marriage is a relationship...like the one we are supposed to have with God.  I get the impression that when someone insists on things outside of what scrpture actually

states, that they just may perceive God the same way.

How would that be?  Like an impossible taskmaster who is ready to whip you into shape the moment you do anything wrong, instead of a loving and kind God, which is

actually what He states about Himself

Divorce and remarriage is ok from Jesus only for the man and only in Matthew in the case of adultery committed by the woman.  It's very straightforward from the text.

Steve,

Jesus identified remarriage to be adultery 5 times and Paul did so twice. So you are saying remarriage is not adultery. So you are the one trying to assert justification by the law because it was Moses that allowed divorce and remarriage while the gospel of grace forbids both.

Trinitron,

Sounds a little unbalanced doesn't it. Like Allah, he says the women don't have equal treatment.

The truth is in marriage they become one person, one flesh that only death can separate. That is how it was with Adam and Eve's marriage and all marriages afterward were patterned after that format. Sorry folks, Jesus is not some wimp who doesn't really mean what he says. No one is going to fool him with their claim they were forgiven and that gave them permission to continue committing adultery by remarriage.

The adultery by remarriage has to be gotten out of like a person involved in extortion has to stop that crime. Calling adultery by remarriage, not a crime, doesn't make it so. These childish word games are not going to stand up against what Jesus said.

LOL..... Sorry  We all love Jesus here, so no one is playing any kind of games A Voice... why don't you just take a deep breath and settle down some? I know a lady who married a jerk that treated her badly. They got divorced and she met a great Godly man. God showed her in a dream the ring he would purpose with. The next day he gave her the same exact ring God shown her in the dream. How do you explain that? The man she was with never wanted God. This was poison to her and holding her back.. so God brought someone new into her life with which His will could be done. I hear you so much speaking from the law... but grace came from Jesus Christ.... We all take our Lord seriously here.. we don't have time for childish games.

Mswright,

If her first marriage was after the pattern of Adam and Eve, neither one having been previously married,  then yes, the second is adultery. If that prior marriage was not lawful meaning he was a divorcee, then her second marriage to an eligible person would not be adultery.

Jesus meant what he said. Remarriage is adultery. To not warn people is to not love them. To encourage them in what will put them in hell is what we would expect Satan to do.

Well, maybe if you read the Bible, you would take it more seriously...unless that is, if you don't take the Bible as God's never changing inspired word as a guide to live our lives.

Matthew 19:9

But I say to you, “Whoever divorces his wife apart from adultery and will take another, commits adultery, and whoever will take her who is divorced commits adultery.”

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
