I have never thought of Dr. Missler as a Bible scholar. but he is a gifted teacher to be sure. Maybe I have never really thought about what it means to be a scholar, certainly he studies the bible, but then, so do you and I! Anyway, no matter.

O.K. Allow me to clarify what I am saying with that. In context, and as the language describes, it is not depicting a geographical distance between two specific locations, it is depicting a volume of blood from an event.  This is evident from the detail of depth.

 

 

By the mere fact that it states a Distance (1600 Furlongs) Inherently denotes a Distance    : Ergo....it must have @ least 2 points.

 

A Volume?     Aren't you missing some information for a Volume Calculation...like the Dimensions and Shape the Volume is in?  Is 1600 Furlongs a Volume Measurement?

 

"Horses Bridles" ...the depth, is only a part of the volume calculation--- and in this case, is a Generalized Qualitative Measure Juxtaposed with a Quantitative Distance provided (1600 Furlongs).  You can't make a Volume calculation from the information provided....it's nonsensical.

 

 

Figurative language may contain Rhetorical Devices. Here, I am not saying that it is figurative because of a Rhetorical device. I am saying it is figurative because common sense would dictate, that the blood volume described, would not exceed the volume of the organisms which the blood belonged to...

 

 

So essentially you're saying, The Passage details must be Rhetorical (not because of any language constraints) but because of common sense, correct?  

 

First off, you don't have a Volume (SEE: directly above) which is an Empirical/Quantitative measure, so your "common sense" is irrelevant and painfully Non-Sequitur (Fallacy).

 

To make even a remote speculation, You need ALL the dimensions for said volume (Which you don't have and never will) and the Blood Volume of All Extant Organisms or the "Organisms" involved in this Massacre.....which you don't have or could ever possibly know.  

 

So in other words, You're Guessing.

I think though, that you possibly err, in that the choice is not between comparing my say so to God's word, but rather between your opinion of what God's word means, against my opinion of what God's word means, unless of course you mean to imply that you are an infallible interpreter of the Word. Yea. Take a look above and see where the veracity of "You're Reasons" now reside, then recompute.  Na, I'm definitely fallible (Just ask my wife  ).... just as we all are, which renders your point quite moot.  The compelling factors of the matter is all the EVIDENCE (Primary and Corroborative).

 

When a Defense Attorney completely exonerates a client based on the evidence the Judge then doesn't ask the Defense Attorney if he's fallible.... implying if he answers yes, then his client is still suspect.

I think God may have. I seem to recall phases like "judge for yourselves". It is among many responsibilities I have as a believer to try and be discerning and rightly divide the word of truth as well as the being skeptical of things people say. If that is not the case for us, on what basis can you disagree with what I have written? Pet theories? You took offense at that?

Sir,  You spent your entire post concerning "the Slide" but that was just a small piece of the evidence for my, as you call it.... "Pet Theory".  No you didn't erase it.....because it was my previous post, you just didn't bring it with you for your "Attempted" Rebuttal.

 

It's Tantamount to a Defense Attorney "attempting" to refute DNA evidence for a robbery...resting his case, all the while disregarding The Video Surveillance Footage "Capturing his client down to the color of his Iris" and The Credit Card he used to by a coke 10 minutes before the crime.....Next Door. 

 

The evidence is establishing "the remnant" will Petition The LORD to Return and be Held Up in Bozrah/Petra <-------that's where the LORD will Return in Revelation 19.

Sorry to hear that.  Unfortunately it's nearly impossible (in most cases) to discern peoples intent or personal situations on written forums.....it's impersonal, Inherently.  I can be quick to the point, brutally honest, and very direct.  I stress Support Support Support for everything.  This tends to rub people the wrong way and misconstrue my mission (SEE: above).

 

I have been lied to either purposely or not by many people I have trusted throughout my life; which has caused me incalculable pain and losses.... so, I am somewhat aggressive in Proof and Support for what I am told...whether it be from a stranger on the street to The Most Hallowed Scientist to ever the Grace the Halls of Academia.  

 

Forgive me if I came across as curt and unloving...that's not my intent.  Maybe I need to take a step back.... perhaps, I have gone to far to the right.

I'm mostly a lurker, but really appreciated what you had to add to the thread. I think some of the ways Christians try to show others they disagree or are in error is destructive. Love is lacking. This is one reason I mostly lurk, after having been trampled quite thoroughly in a different Christian forum that was overflowing with the aggressive. Certainly this is not something approved by Christ. You are beloved and much more than just tolerated!
