wow! so many ways and so much time or such little time depending how you look at it?

I think that is a funny scripture

Neh 8:2-3

2And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.

3And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.

Ezra read to the people from morning to midday! The point is, there is no time too great or too small to spend in God's word. It's less about the amount of time and more about your heart as you read! I have often read just one or two verses that kept me prayerful and thoughtful all day!

So, Kros child does that mean in vs. 2 that I only read the bible the fist day of the 7th month and thats it for the year.

Pretty funny I think about it but I know its not meaning that.

and than according to verse 3 I'm suppose to do it at midday everyday so everyone can hear it. That means i need tostory time outfit everyday if I have read the Bible foreveryone to hear at mid day.

Thanks for the great advice everyone

HAHA!! Actually, this happened right after someone found the scriptures (in the Temple, I believe). The people had not been following God, and when someone found them and realized it, they were all called together to hear what God had to say to them. And technically, it says UNTIL midday, so you better get some good anti-perspirant too!

How much time should one read or study the Bible? I hear of people claiming to read as much as an hour or so day. Some even read a chapter or 3 or so a day. Some just read a verse. So how much time spend reading and listing to God's word? Does it make a difference if it is daily weekly, monthly, or yearly?

it is not so much as how much time a person spends reading the Bible,

it is not so much how many times a person is dunked in the water ( baptised )

it is not so much how many times a person says "c mi tye" .

it is not so much how many times a person repeats a canned prayer,

it is not what we do or do not do that will ever get us to heaven.....

the question should be for you to answer yourself thru prayer with the aide of the Holy Spirit, WHAT DOES GOD WANT ME TO DO......

you see, you can spend 18 hours a day reading the Bible, and every 4 - 5 days go completly thru it, and never see heaven..... you can do this for 90 years with out fail, and still not see heaveen.....

the first and foremost thing a person needs, is Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, and they need to develope a personal one on one relationship with the Lord, which they can do thru prayer and reading the Word of God.

Prayer is not just getting on you knees and asking God to bless all our family or to bless our food and things as this, Prayer is communication, is a two way street, unfortunatly, most people look at prayer as a one way street, we tell God what we want, and then dont listen for His answer, but expect Him to jump at our every whimm........... God speaks to those that listen, God speaks to those that want to hear Him......

the closer a person gets to the Lord, the more a person learns about God and what God wants in our lives...... God even shares His plans with those that walk with Him....... just as a father shares his business with his sons/daughters, God shares His thoughts and plans with His children..... ( the Bible even says so )..... we are no longer servants but are adopted children into the Royal Family....

there will be many that say God has not and does not share His thoughts with people, those people either dont have a personal relationship with the Lord, or dont want one......

by the way, for me to tell you how much time to spend reading the Bible, I would say set aside a time frame each and every day to spend reading, and also set aside time each and every day for specific knee time ( private quiet time in close prayer with the Lord ) not to include the rest of the day that we are to be praying continuously......

spend as much time as you can besides the time you have set aside, and spend as much as the Lord leads you to spend.....

you will find, the more time you spend with the Lord, the more time you will want to spend with Him..... there is nothing like spending time in the Lords arms, while reading about His wonderful Love for you.............

It shouldn't matter how long you read the words, as long as you understand what you read. If there is a god up there than all he wants is for you to understand him and what he is about. Know that go did not write the bible himself. If you read the bible think about what you read.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
