No Indictment for Wilson

The police are being criticized for not doing enough to stop the arson that at current count has destroyed at least 25 buildings.  But, I believe they did exactly what they were told to do.  To stand down and use restraint.  Buildings are much easier to replace than people, and even the lives of the lowest criminals have more value than any structure, because, as long they are still breathing they can be redeemed by the Holy Spirit.

From the President after the Grand Jury Announcement:  "I also appeal to the law enforcement officials in Ferguson and the region to show care and restraint in managing peaceful protests that may occur.  Understand, our police officers put their lives on the line for us every single day.  They’ve got a tough job to do to maintain public safety and hold accountable those who break the law.  As they do their jobs in the coming days, they need to work with the community, not against the community, to distinguish the handful of people who may use the grand jury’s decision as an excuse for violence — distinguish them from the vast majority who just want their voices heard around legitimate issues in terms of how communities and law enforcement interact"

The rioters burned and looted the city, and as of yet, no one in Ferguson has been killed.  The rioters also proved that they weren't really concerned about peacefully protesting what they thought was an injustice.  They wanted the police to use restraint, not for their own safety, but so they could rampage through the city and knock over a few liquor and consumer products stores.  They had the intention all along to bring anarchy to this city and many others around the country.  A state senator was even quoted as saying this was a race war.  29 People have been arrested so far.

Al Sharpton is on his way to pour gasoline on the fire and to maybe cash in on their feelings while he's there.

I think it also explodes the myth that the reason the riots got out of control in August was because the police were in riot gear and mistreated the protesters.  In this situation, the police did stand down, and the protesters got violent on their own.  The police had to use tear gas for among other reasons, to protect the fire department when they came into fight the fires the protesters started.

The police had to escort the fire department out of the danger zone when guns started firing in the area where the fire dept. was putting out fires.  So they had to use tear gas and other measures to protect the lives of other emergency personnel.

Sharpton is nothing but a greedy opportunist.  He exploits stuff like this and has done more to harm the black community than almost anyone else.  He feeds the hysteria and keeps tensions running high no matter what.

Posted

They are already blaming cops for using tear gas (none was used, only smoke) to quell the riot.

These protesters are not heroes. they are thugs.  Michael Brown is not a civil rights hero.  He is not a symbol.  He is not on the same level f MLK Jr. or Rosa Parks.  Michael Brown was a thug and a thief.   He was on drugs when he assaulted a police officer and a convenience store owner.

The protesters are nothing but lawless thugs who need to be arrested and these protests are not lawful and need to be shut down.  Looting and stealing, damaging stores and private property do not qualify as lawful protests and police, FBI and the National Guard need to finally shut it down.  It is not productive or peaceful.

Those of us with commonsense and a clear eye to this story knew that these protests in Ferguson were going to go downhill and spiral into violence once the verdict was announced.

The reference to civil rights hero was to Marion Berry.

No, I am referring to the way that Michael Brown is being held up as a symbol of the Civil rights struggle and how that he will heralded as if he were on the same level as Rosa Parks or other civil rights pioneers who actually deserve the respect they get.

I think it is ironic that many the same people ranting about violence in Ferguson in the social media sphere largely dismissed his death this past weekend as removing a worthless addict from the world.  Marion Berry was definitely one of the Pioneers in the civil rights movement and especially the non-violent protest part. I believe a similar topic was posted on here, ripping on him, post mortem that thankfully got deleted.

It seems like when it comes some skin colors have trouble saying anything positive.

the one making this about race evidently is you.  The fact is that this entire conflict has nothing to do with race.   I don't support Darren Wilson because he is white, but because he is unfairly characterized as a racist white cop who brutally murdered an unarmed black boy.

It is the protesters that inserted race into this. The Grand Jury correctly ruled that there is no reason to indict Wilson, that there is no evidence of a racial hate crime having been committed by him.   But the thugs in the street wanted blood and an indictment no matter what.  To them, Wilson is guilty till proven innocent and they intended on protesting even if they got the indictment they wanted.   This is not about justice, but thuggery.

They have shown their true colors and have shown that they are not interested in truth, only revenge, be it just or not.   So don't even try to play the race card with me.

I don't hold up Michael Brown as any kind of hero either and I haven't met anyone who has so that is a bit of a straw horse statement to object to that.  Race was definitely called out by another poster and I called her out on it and made my comment.  I have only been a part of these forums for a short time but it appear that race baiting both flagrant and dressed in thinly veiled derivative concerns seem to go unchecked here.

you're referring to me, and it's entirely untrue. YOU, and you alone, brought up skin color. I NEVER brought race into the conversation. so don't go playing the race card with me, either.

I do see what you are saying. There were reports that the protesters were trying to "police" themselves. I suspect that those individuals were the ones from Ferguson.

The other side of the coin is they brought this on themselves. You don't cry fire in a crowded movie theatre. As soon as they allowed this to turn into a white vs black issue the crazies are going to come. The people of ferguson had ample time to diffuse this as a race thing. But they didn't because they were getting all kinds of attention.

We have them up here in Canada as well. The media call them professional protesters. They show up just to cause trouble. But if someone is going to cry a fowl and play the race card it's going to attract these so called professional protesters.

I like that the Canadian media calls them professional protesters.  I wish the U.S. media would do likewise. Instead the U.S. media goes for ratings, and professional protesters escalate the situation and make for a bigger story.

I did not see anything racist in what the officer did, but, the saddest thing of all was that Michael Brown stole a $40 box of swisher cigars, which caused the policeman to try to stop him for arrest. Michael Brown lost his life over a $40 box of cigars and being really stupid. I think the question had to be asked, if this was an overuse of force in a black/white situation. The question wasn't wrong to ask, even if it is an emotional question.

My nephew used to be into athletics. My nephew is white and his team mate was black. After practice, they would ride their bicycles to my nephews house. The neighborhood was mainly white. Two or three separate times, the police stopped the team mate while they were riding their bicycles to my nephews house. They did not talk to my white nephew, but questioned the black teammate. They were riding their bicycles together.   I don't think it could be much clearer that the black kid was being stopped because he was black. This wasn't in Ferguson, but it was within a mile or 2 of the St. Louis County court house. This was about 18 years ago, but racial profiling does happen.

The working people of Ferguson are suffering the brunt of the violent protests. It will take them a long time to recover from the affects.

What really angers me about all of this is the people of Ferguson who have no stake in this but have had their jobs taken away from them because the protesters are looting and burning buildings.   People can't get to work when the intersections are blocked.

None of these people have anything to do with what happened to Michael Brown.  They are not in law enforcement and they just want to put food on their tables and live their lives and now they can't because their job was burnt to the ground or whatever.

These protesters are so violent and selfish and really, while they think they are stick up for black people, it is the black people of Ferguson they are hurting when they burn down down the places where black people work.

These protests are not lawful, but the police are afraid to lift a finger because of the even greater violence that will ensue and more police will be called racist.  It really is sad when one sector of our population is allowed to take everyone hostage and for no good reason.

first i'd like to back up and say yes, shiloh may be right, perhaps i should have said "the prostesters" instead of ferguson. good grief, even here i have to be sure i'm measuring each and every word for political correctness. the protesters are in ferguson. a large number of protesters have been in ferguson and the center of the media attention for months.

i am fully aware that there are a lot of people in ferguson who were fearing for their safety last night. i'm sure that's why the announcement was postponed til 8 pm... to give people time to get home from work and be safe within their doors with their families. i could literally feel their fear last night. i could picture moms and dads holding their children in their arms... young teens with their heads buried under pillows... all praying that the night would end. i could visualize these things. and i spent significant time praying for them.

but the people in ferguson who are acting as they are get no sympathy from me, and i stand by my comment. they showed their true colors.

now, regarding the post i just quoted from you... the kid did NOT get killed over a $40 box of cigars.

the kid got killed (and he wasn't a kid, he was a grown man at 18, just one that lacked common sense and maturity) because he was a threat to the cop and to others.

he STOLE. that's not something to be brushed over so lightly. to you it may be a $40 box of cigars. to the store owner who gets merchandise stolen from him day in and day out, that $40 box of cigars may have been his child's next pair of shoes. or his family's next meal.

and even that wasn't what got him killed. he beat the tar out of a police officer and tried to steal the officer's gun. he left the cop battered and bruised and walked away probably quite proud of himself. when the cop got steady on his feet and ordered him to stop, brown turned back around and challenged the officer, and in the words of witnesses whose testimony was not dismissed, was 'moving fast' or 'charging' at the officer.

THAT is why michael brown got killed.

it wasn't because he stole a box of cigars.

he did NOT lose his life over a box of cigars, and it's shameful for anyone to characterize the situation as such. such comments lend fuel to the 'racism' fire.

He lost his life because he assaulted a police officer and made the officer feel his life was being threatened and the officer responded in self-defense.   Had it just been about the cigars, he would have probably be alive today.  But his death was over much more than cigars.

No, it was only the assault that cost him his life.  The cigars played no role except that him stealing them destroyed the Left's narrative that he was an innocent black kid that was mercilessly gunned down by a racist white cop.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
