I myself am conflicted with this topic. For those of you who do not know, the rapture is a period when Jesus will come for his church and leave the unbelievers behind to face the Tribulation period. The Left Behind books tell of this period and in my opinion are amazing books. Anyway, many scholars think the rapture is just an invention of the mind. They say the end will come as a shock to everyone and no one will expect it. I myself want to believe it myself however I myself cannot understand enough to come to a conclusion. Does anyone have any opinions about this?

there have been many threads in the past on this, and Trinity is right about the eaten alive part. It is one of the discussions that usually end up in a bit of turmoil. :)

I acutally changed my mind about the pre trib rapture reading through all the threads. You would most likely be better off doing a search on it and reading through several threads than living through the experience of it happening again. but maybe it's started and we'll just go through it all again.

Dad Earnie, it's your time..... you explain it much better than I....

Ask and it shall be given.

CHRIST told us how HE would return to earth.

Mt 24:27

For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Christ will return to earth in a flash of lightning. And everyone will see HIM. Paul and John suport this here.

1Co 15:52

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Re 1:7

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen

The dead will be raised from death. Not from being alive walking around in heaven.

They who pierced HIM are a type. A evil generation. Every one on earth that are still alive after the great tribulation will be in one area on earth to see HIM come.

So the LORD descends alone from heaven In a flash of LIghtning in a moment. The dead are raised from death and those who are his elect firstfruits who are alive at HIS coming all in that flash of lightning go up to meet HIM in the air on earth and are changed from coruptible to incoruptible bodies.

1 Thessalonians 4

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

This is all after the great tribulation. HERE is why.

Matthew 24

21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.

23 Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it.

24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

25 See, I have told you beforehand.

26 Therefore if they say to you, 'Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; or 'Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not believe it.

27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

They can not try to deceive the elect if the elect are not there. And then CHRIST comes.

In CHRIST JESUS :):clap::king::24:

Why insist on making a very straightforward biblical truth a heinous mess of confusion. Paul answers our search with his clear-cut statements in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. Altho the word "rapture" is not in the Bible, the truth of it surely is. The greek word is "harpazo", the sudden snatching-away of God's worldwide twice-born (John 3:1-7) people.

Will you be ready when Jesus comes? (John 14:1-6).

Thank You, Jesus, for this THRILLING & STRAIGHTFORWARD promise!

Greetings UVN477,

My ears were burning, so I had to peek in. This thread actually belongs in the Eschatology Forum, and I hope one of the mods changes its location.

The Left Behind series, although entertaining, is introduced as "fiction", but like you many have been deceived into believing it actually reflects what the scriptures say. WRONG! The books pervert the Lord's coming, but you are not going to believe this until you study the scriptures for yourself. Some have already posted a few of the scriptures which relay the truth.

This is an area of study well worth your endeavors, but like another has said, DON'T LISTEN TO MAN, instead READ YOUR BIBLE. Then when you have a question, pose it first to God and then come seeking for a "multitude of counselors". If you can't do this, then it must not be all that important to you, but that is the way you should go.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
