Yep Mega that was well said right there. I agree with you. There seems to be right now a fad on people writing about "experiences" to Heaven and people will listen because they sound good to the ears.

 

I give that guy kudos for recanting and being honest that must have been hard to do but he did the right thing and I am proud of him for being honest.

I wonder if this is the same kid that was interviewed by Sean Hannity?  I heard an interview recently on a best of show during the holidays.  The kid was making some far out comments about sitting on Jesus' lap, everyone being in their 30s, children that died growing up in heaven, and people in heaven knowing what is taking place on earth.  It was certainly giving us extra-Biblical glimpses into heaven.  He certainly seemed to have some knowledge about God and heaven, and if the story was a lie, was more than willing to spread the lie to a national audience, assuming this is the same kid.  I am not sure if it was this person or not, but he was very convincing.  My question was more over whether or not it was a dream state he was in, or if it really happened.  Like so many other things regarding religion, I would think people would have enough fear of God to where they wouldn't spread lies like that.  You would think they would fear the judgment.  I know I would.

I didn't know anything about the book, or this young man.  But, I do see his repentant heart and I rejoice over this lost soul that was found and restored!  Paul called himself the chiefest of sinners, but I assure you that I give him a run for his money.  God is glorified and rejoices in our repentence!  I can do no less than my Master. 

 

Luke 15:7, "I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance."

That thought did cross my mind, I'll admit.   Never bothered with his book, or any of the others that claim to have been to Heaven and back since many of those stories seem to contradict scripture.

 

It would seem from the article that the kid got saved . . . or that's the impression I get, so I have to say it took guts to stand up and admit to making it all up.

My understanding from some of the reports I was reading and listening to is that the boy didn't actually claim to have been in heaven, but that it was the father who made it up.  The boy's name is not on the copyright, only the father's name appears there and the boy was not getting any of the money or royalties for the book.  I don't know if those claims are true, but if they are, the father needs to be charged with fraud.
