Matt. 8:16b-17  NKJV And He cast out spirits with a word, and healed ALL who were sick, that it might be fulfilled that which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:  He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses".  Is. 53:4

I do believe healing was legally purchased at the cross, but like salvation it is still a gift to be received.

I do not believe in the prosperity "gospel." This is not the Gospel that Paul preached and those who preach it are accursed.  We are told instead to be content with what we have, and we are constantly told to avoid greed and the love of money.  1 Tim. 6:5-10   Useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a mean of gain.  From such withdraw yourself.  Now godliness with contentment is great gain.  ---And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.  But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare---

Healing was not purchased on the cross, but God does sovereign choose to heal.  God is limited by or obligated by our faith to do anything, even heal.   God doesn't always heal.   Is. 53:4 was fulfilled during Jesus' ministry as Matt. states.

Is. 53:4 in light of Jesus' fulfilment in Matt. 8:17 refers not to the transfer of sickness on to Jesus in that he physically or spiritually bore their sickness.   What it is saying in the light of the New Testament is that during Jesus' ministry he set people free from sickness and disease  and demonic oppression/possession.  These were signs Jesus did to demonstrate that He was both Messiah and God.

There is no "legal" reason for Jesus to purchase healing for us on the cross.  Healing is an act based solely on God's sovereign choice to heal.  He is not bound or obligated to us "legally"  whatsoever.

Healing was not purchased on the cross,..There is no "legal" reason for Jesus to purchase healing for us on the cross.

To make such a dogmatic statement is neither wise nor consistent with what Scripture reveals regarding the connection of sin and sickness and disease. When Scripture says "WITH HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED" (Isa 53:5), we should take that to mean the healing of body, soul, and spirit.  This has nothing to do with "legality" but everything to do with the complete person, since redemption includes THE WHOLE spirit, soul, and body (1 Thess 5:23).

Had there been no sin on earth, there would have been no curse, and had there been no curse, there would have been neither sickness nor disease.  Therefore when the Father laid on the Son "the iniquity of us all" (Isa 53:6), the Holy Spirit reveals through Matthew that "our griefs and sorrows" included "our infirmities and sicknesses".

If Christ did not purchase healing on the Cross, then those who are redeemed, resurrected, and raptured would still be subject to sickness and disease.  Instead they put off corruption and put on incorruption (1 Cor 15:53,54).

Hello Every one,

I am asking that you would post your beliefs and thoughts on what Jesus purchased for your life here on this earth. What kind of Life did He have in mind for you to live in the here and now.....Use scriptures too AND write what you believe the scriptures you use are saying. I thought it would be fun to see how we all grasp this.

Thank You and Blessings and Love

Jim

Hello Jim.

The scripture that comes to mind is from Luke 9:24 "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it."

To save my fear-based ego life, my self, is to value it above Truth, and be a slave to my self fabricated stories about ME. These stories is my delusion, and perishable like my body.

To lose this fear-based ego life for the sake of Christ (The Truth, life and the way) through Faith, will become a truth-filled person of Unconditional Love. This Truth is reality, and imperishable like my Spirit/soul.

From this, my life here on this earth is to let go of my fears, so I can love the Love that loves me. In doing so, I allow the Spirit in me to express itself (God's love) in this realm. To bear witness of God's unconditional love.

Hello Willa,

((( is what you said )))

((( I do believe healing was legally purchased at the cross, but like salvation it is still a gift to be received.

I do not believe in the prosperity "gospel." This is not the Gospel that Paul preached and those who preach it are accursed.)))

Willa can you say that Paul never taught that we are blessed ? Accursed ? Now how do you get that ? Yes I know you keep hammering on about the prosperity gospel.....What is prosperity ?

(((We are told instead to be content with what we have, and we are constantly told to avoid greed and the love of money.  1 Tim. 6:10   Useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a mean of gain.  From such withdraw yourself.  Now godliness with contentment is great gain.  ---And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.  But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare---)))))))

Willa to be content in any cituation we find our selves in means we stay in Joy and Peace when it is bad or good with plenty or in need. This in no way says we are to except this state and stay in it. The lust or love of money is talking about those who put money over God. Another words making money is more important then walking with God. No place in the word of God does it tells us it is wrong to have money.

What is being said could be said as Seek ye the kingdom of GOD FIRST then these other things will be added unto you. God will prosper His children. The problem comes when man wants to do it without God or do in mans way and not wait on the Lord.

I am sorry that you have had a bad situation in the past with some ministries but please dont assume that prosperity is all about finances. For finances is only a little piece. Picture a pizza all cut into nice slices. Each slice represents a part or piece of prosperity.

There is prospering in your relationships and your health and you mind and and so forth.

I really am not trying to push anything on any one. I brought up some scriptures about prospering in Christ and boom here come the replies talking about this movement and that one and money, money, money......(( Willa Not applying all this on you but just talking with you))

I can do nothing outside of Christ. I can not prosper with out Christ. God is my only way to prospering. He does it His way when He wants and how He wants. When I know He has shown me something I need to do or change what have you I simply do it and take Him at His word. If He tells me to take an apple and give it to the green eyed butter cat two houses down, then so be it even if I have no clue what a buttercat is not to mention a green eyed one but that does not matter because I am a believer and I believe His every word and if God said there is a green eyed butter cat then there is a green eyed butter cat. I know far fetched but I am just trying to make a point that wont offend some one. ;)

Thank You for your replies and ahve a very Blessed day

Jim

Funny thing I agree with you on something........Just teasing Shiloh.... you said (( Healing is an act based solely on God's sovereign choice to heal.  He is not bound or obligated to us "legally"  whatsoever.))

Now that is true and yet He is bound by His own word.

Shiloh said ((( There is no "legal" reason for Jesus to purchase healing for us on the cross.  Healing is an act based solely on God's sovereign choice to heal.  He is not bound or obligated to us "legally"  whatsoever ))

Legal reason ? How about LOVE REASON.......The entire theme or reason Jesus even went to the Cross was LOVE. Because God loves us that much and Jesus Loves the Father and He Loves us.......Jesus set us free from the curse of the law which even if you disagree includes sickness and disease. God did it all out of Love for us. Legal views are simply wrong.

Blessings

Jim

Jim,

Yes, He is bound by His Word, but God has never promised healing to every believer.  Healing is again, God's sovereign choice to perform.   He has never promised to heal every believer of every sickness, every time.

The reason I bring up the "legal" issue is that the Word of Faith/Charismatic camp believes that the have a legal claim when it comes to healing.  They believe that God is legally obligated to heal.  That's the argument THEY make.   I used to hear it all of the time.

God loves us, but that doesn't always mean that He will heal us, when we are sick.   Jesus didn't die for our physical healing.   He died to deliver us from spiritual death (curse of the law).   Our physical illness, weakness and limitations are a means by which God shows his power.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
