Scolari was in the T.V. series spinnoff of Honey I Shrank the Kids. Sorry, I should have been more specific. He was also a character on the Newhart Show in the 80s, which is when I met him.

In the movie Honey I Shrunk the Kids, it was Rick Moranis who played the husband.

Anyway, I always thought Peter Scolari was pretty cool.

I've met Phil Donahue - was a guest on his show. He is much taller in real life then he appears, and was very nice when I talked to him. I offered a suggestion for a topic for his show and he had me write it down and give it to a producer and they did do a show on it.

Was also a guest on the Morton Downy Jr. show (does anyone remember that one?), but didn't meet him.

In the early 70s I met Bo Jangles, the singer. That was a surprise! Then, when I moved to California, I met a woman who knew Stevie Wonder. She took me to his studio in L.A. He is a very nice person, a warm person. It was great meeting these two people !

I watched the Morton Downy Jr. Show when I was in High School. It was on TV right when I got home. It was classic tv. I just remember that guy smoking like a chain smoker and just yelling at everybody. It was hilarious.

Why were you a guest on the Phil Donahue show? What did you talk about? Wht was the topic you suggested that they did? Did you know that his show started in Dayton, OH? He attended Antioc College in Yellow Springs, OH. A supper liberal college in the the middle of the cornfields of Ohio. I attended a nearby college that was/is as conservative as Antioc College is liberal.

I was a regular viewer (yeah, I know - don't shoot me). Called and got tickets and took two friends. (I lived in the area). The show was about prenuptial agreements (kinda boring, I was dissappointed it wasn't something "good".) I asked a question on camera and had two big zits on my face. I was mortified when I watched the tape and they zoomed in on my face, lol. I was in my early twenties.

On the way out, you shook Phil D's hand and he thanked you for coming. He really was nice (for a liberal) (j/k you liberals!!!) and VERY tall and I said "Hey, Phil - how 'bout a show called "staying home and loving it" about moms who WANT to stay home and raise their kids?" He got silent for a second and said - "you know, I like that " and yelled for a producer who brought me a little form they use for that purpose and had me fill it out. (I was holding up the line doing this, lol). Just a little piece of paper with a couple of lines on it to write down your idea is all it was.

No, Pretzel, I had no idea he attended that college. Not suprised though!

I worked in the Hollywood industry for awhile and met a lot of celebrities. I'm well over the "star struck" thing. I learned that they are just people with a job that has a lot of exposure.

Personally, I believe the idolization of celebrities and sports players has gotten out of hand and concerns me big time. I couldn't stomach 99% of what came across my television so I had the cable turned off as of last July. I don't even get the local channels. None! I thought it would be difficult, but, to be honest, I've never been happier!

Please don't mistake this as a "holier than thou" post! These are just my thoughts and my decision. I don't put anyone down for watching television or liking celebrities.
