i'd like to meet the bush family too... and sean hannity (don't care much about colmes.)

LOL, I like Alan! He's not radical or hateful, just has opposing views and expresses them articulately and respectfully.

At one time in my life, I would have given just about anything to meet Stephen King. I admired him so much and thought he was a genious. I still think he is a genious, but dont' want to meet him and wish I'd never read his books.

There are some people from my past I'd like to meet - mostly from High School. I'd love to see where they all are today.

I'd enjoy meeting Martina McBride. I'd love to meet Trace Atkins, but don't think the husband would go along with that idea....

But, all in all, I'm not that into 'famous' people.

Good post! Very thought provoking.

I ment Yanni In 1997 while I was working the dressing room security detail. He was a very down to earth guy with a rich baritone voice. I dont like his kind of music but as a person he left a impression on me.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

oh, i love his music! but it's the man who impresses me most, not his music. i've seen him in concert five different times, and it never fails that he has something deeply profound to say each time. some little personal insight into life and the world around us. everything about him evokes a positive response and makes the listeners just feel GOOD!

little story... tiny story... mark's never been a fan of yanni, and while i like kenny wayne shepard, i only like him in small doses. a couple of years ago, mark bought two tickets to see yanni as a mother's day present... and i bought two tickets to kenny wayne shepard for his birthday.

when we left the yanni concert, i asked mark what he thought of it, and he said surprisingly that on a scale of 1-10, he'd give the concert a 9. he was very impressed with his musicianship as well as his personality and interaction with the audience.

mark didn't have to ask me what i thought of KWS... i was still trying to pick my lower jaw up off the floor i was so amazed. that kid has more talent than almost anyone i've ever seen... in fact, his musical ability rivals that of yanni's, despite the differing genre. i was totally enthralled... and found myself wishing my oldest daughter (then sixteen) had been with us. she would have absolutely loved it.

the moral of the story i suppose is that if we look beyond our personal preferences and appreciate the music itself, the skill of the musicians, we can really learn to appreciate much more than we would typically even consider worthy of our time.

Of course, over all.....I know....someday I'll see Jesus. So since I'm getting to know Him now....

I'd like to meet Oprah and Julia Roberts....I'd have them over for dinner. Together...since they know each other.

I'd like to meet Steve Irwin and his family. (The Croc Hunter) I'd like to meet Officer Anne Marie Lucas from Animal Precinct too.

I'd like to meet Robin Jones Gunn (Christian author).

If I could go back in time or bring people back I'd like to meet Anne Frank and George Washington.

Okay, that's all I can think of for now.

Thanks for the neat topic. :emot-dance:

Blessings

I can't wait to see Jesus face to face!! :emot-dance:

I love Jason Upton's music. I saw him at a conference in Canada. He was leading the worship, and I was impressed with his transparency and honesty. I think I would like to meet him and spend some time worshipping Jesus with him.

I would like to meet people from the bible. Moses, David, Paul, etc...

Will have to think on this some more.

OK I'll bite, who is Bill Baily and Bruce Dickinson?  Anyway, of course Jesus, that will be the greatest meeting of all and all my brothers and sisters in Worthy.  I would also like to meet Abraham Lincoln, and Billy Graham.  Bill Baily and Bruce Dickinson???  :emot-hug:      :emot-hug:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Bill Bailey is a British comedian, his comedy is slightly surreal at times but can be very intelligent. He is also great with hacklers! I saw him in 2003 and loved every minute of his show.

Bruce Dickinson is the lead vocalist of Iron Maiden and a pilot for an airline I can't remember off hand...he is also an Olympic standard fencer (he once turned down the olypmics as he was touring with Maiden at the time) an author. an AMAZING vocalist and...a born-again Christian: yay!

I jsut thought of someone else I'd like to meet but I can't remember who now...d'oh! It might come to me later!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
