Just a few comments.

I lived in the city where Bernie Sanders was the mayor. He was a good mayor but his socialism played a minimal role in city politics. One of the lasting things he did was to take an old abandoned rail road track areas and made bike paths. The bike paths are very popular and connect the furthest points of the city with downtown where most people worked. He was considered such a good mayor that for many years after he left to be in the U.S. assembly, the people continued to elect socialists but none were as popular as Bernie.

As I've said before, Bernie is a strong fighter for the elderly and is one of the few candidates who wants to preserve Social Security and medicare. He is also strong on gun rights.

Bernie's weaknesses are that he is a socialist. While he says he will fight for the middle class, socialism in other countries destroys the middle class so you end up with the poor and the rich. The biggest weakness in socialism is that is an idealistic belief. But people in power tend not to be so idealistic and fight for more power and money for themselves. So, rather then the idealistic equality, you do end up with poor and rich. When dealing with people, one must consider the fallen nature which prevents socialism from succeeding. When Jesus returns to reign as King, that  is when true equality can occur.

Bernie, although Jewish, does not strongly identify with the Jewish people and is not a strong supporter of Israel.

I have respect for Bernie because he fights strongly for his beliefs, and is mostly open and transparent about his views. So, you can expect him to fight for what he says he stands for. If you disagree with what he says he stands for, you don't want him. If you agree, you can expect him to follow thru to the best of his ability.

Bernie has heard the gospel many times, and has shown no interest in Judaism, Christianity or any other religion. He is polite when listening.

A vote for Bernie Sanders = "I hate America."   I would vote for dead chicken before I would vote for socialist, pro gay, pro abortion moron like Sanders.

Campaign finance reform that would lead to our government representing the many needs of its people rather than an elite few.

Socialism is all about keeping everyone equally poor and only the elite benefit.   Socialism didn't make America the greatest place to live.  If you want socialism then go live in a socialist country.    Capitalism is what built America.   If you don't want to be an American,   Go live in France.

It is good to hear from someone who has first-hand experience of Bernie Sanders in action .

I am sure you will concur with me that there is a refreshing aspect to Bernie Sanders......in campaigning he sticks to the issues......he does not engage in the calumny and detraction of other politicians ......which makes him quite unique .

There is nothing unique about a proabortion, pro gay marriage, socialist

-Fair and just treatment of immigrants

-Financial protection for the elderly (social security)

-Fair and just opportunity for everyone to have access to higher education regardless of income.

-Anti trade acts that lead to exploitation of workers overseas.

-Fair living wage that would free many from poverty.

-Criminal Justice reform that would free those who are unnecessarily incarcerated.

-Environmental protections to better steward the earth God created.

-Campaign finance reform that would lead to our government representing the many needs of its people rather than an elite few.

What most of that entails is control and little to none of it is "Christian"  or biblical.   When you look at what all that stuff actually means and what it would take to implement them, what you would have is a dictator.

Immigrants - We are no unjust or unfair with immigrants.   If we don't treat illegal immigrants like royalty it is because they break our laws.  They have no respect for our country.  Putting them in prison and deporting them IS fair and just treatment of those who come here illegally.   People like Sanders define "fair and just treatment"  as, "abolish all borders and just let anyone come here any way and anytime they want, and disregard all laws regarding immigration."   Basically, it's lawlessness.   We have that to some degree now, but under a moron like Sanders, it would be far, far worse.

Education - As for education, everyone already has access to higher education regardless of income.   The financial requirements for getting student loans is very, very low and you can be living in abject poverty and still get student loans.   The only person who is stopping you from getting an education is YOU.   What people are wanting is to get loans they don't have to pay back.    They want to rack up mountains of student loan debt and then have the government (actually you and me) pay off their debts.    You and I would be strapped with $$ Billions$$  in new taxes and pay way more in order to pay off the debts of lazy people who want something for nothing.

Living Wage - It is not the government's job to provide a fair and living wage.   For one thing, depending on your personal expenses, a "living wage" means something different to one person than someone else.    If you have a car loan, a mortgage, student loans and thousand of dollars in credit card expenditures a "living wage"   would be different than someone who has minimal debt and rents an apartment for $500 a month.  Not only that, but  the basic cost of living is different in different parts of the country.

There is NO way the government can provide a one-size-fits-all "living wage" that suits everyone.   "Living wage"  is impossible to nail down.  It is subjective to each person.  And the government should not have to provide that.   It would require the government to control businesses.   Liberals don't understand the matrix of economics.   You cannot impose a particular wage on businesses because a business has to balance out expenses to income in order to stay solvent.   Wages have to be based on what the business can afford to pay based on the amount of profit the business takes in.  You can't just set a wage based on some nebulous concept of a "living wage."   People like Sanders would basically cause businesses to go out of business, and so their employees would not only lose a living wage, but would lose any kind of wage at all.   Sanders would increase poverty, not lower it.

If a person is irresponsible with their money, and if they spend a lot on cigarettes, booze, porn, and monster cell phone bills, then they will come to poverty no matter what.  If they are like a kid in a candy store when it comes to credit cards, there is no living possible for them.    People in the US generally come to poverty because they are lazy, they live self-destructive lifestyles, and they have no clue how to manage their money.   Poverty is imposed on no one in the US.

Environmental Protections - We have enough environmental protections.  We don't need more.  We simply need to enforce what is already on the books. The earth is not dying and man is not going to destroy the earth.   The same people who whine blubber about the environment screech to the heavens about owls, polar bears and eagle eggs, are the same people who support abortion and Planned Parenthood's murder of human beings.    Liberals need to get their priorities straight.

To act like Bernie Sanders, a nonChristian is someone how a bastion of Christian virtues is really ignorant and short-sighted.  Bernie Sanders' views are not based in Christianity at all.   Social Justice is not Christian, it is based on the assumption that poverty is "unjust"  and that if I am rich and you are poor, your poverty places a moral obligation on ME to eliminate it.    That is not biblical at all, in fact, it goes against biblical principles pertaining to poverty.

If Trump were not a megalomaniac I would sort of like to see the general election be between Trump and Sanders.  The ultimate showdown between capitalism vs socialism.   Let the populous decide which direction to take the country by two people honest about their intentions.

Since I have experienced Bernie for many many years, his methods not 'refreshing' or new. Bernie has found that he is most effective building a grass roots campaign. He uses that method to win elections and to win his policies. He wins by appealing to individuals and building a grass roots group who make the desired views very visible. You might want to look up a book called 'Rules for Radicals' by Saul Alinsky. Bernie speaks plainly about issues but can phrase the issue in a manner which backs his opponents into the wall. Something similar to 'have you quite beating your wife yet... yes or no' but he never appears to be on the attack on anything but issues, and never appears to get nasty.

At the same time, Bernie is good at working with people from the 'opposing' side. If the opposing side is willing to work with Bernie, he is willing to work with them, and will change any effort to fulfill his vision but accommodate some of his opponents desires. He is so good at working across the isle that anyone willing ends up respecting Bernie. But, if someone is not willing to work with Bernie, the grass roots campaign will put Bernie's opponent in a bad light, and that person will tend to lose their support base.

Bernie will fight for what he believes very strongly, using grass roots methods. But, if the opponents are willing to negotiate into a win-win, Bernie is very good at working with people who are and were against his basic principals. Obama worked more as a dictator, and never was able to cross the aisle for support. If Bernie does win, the group in the Republicans who are not willing to negotiate will end up with nothing. Those who learn the art of negotiation in a win-win, will accomplish some of what they want.

For example, if those promoting the Key Stone pipeline can focus on job creation and convince people that they are environmentally conscience, and put money into environmental causes like preserving unique environments,  and accommodating the poor, they might have a chance.

In my opinion, if a 'democrat' were to win in the next election, the better democrat to win would be Bernie Sanders.  That possibility scares the democrats because Bernie might not follow the party line as much as they desire. He will just enough to appease them, but for the democrats, he is somewhat uncontrollable.

On the Republican side, at this point, I think Ben Carson is the best candidate.

What constitutes a "success" in your opinion?

Economic and social success.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
