So yes, he did actually say it, and not just once but over and over again.

Okay; point taken.  So who do YOU support as a Presidential candidate?

I don't support any of them.

That's unusual.  So you have no opinions on the upcoming election?

As far as who to support?

Not at this moment.

Well, there's plenty of time.  I'll just be glad when 17 candidates are whittled down to a more manageable number.  I think after this debate coming up the number of candidates is going to drop sharply.

Bernie Sanders is Jewish . That should be no problem .

Bernie Sanders is a socialist . That's better than being a capitalist .

There is absolutely zero chance I would ever consider voting for Bernie Sanders or any other socialist.  I am 100 percent free market capitalist in my views.  Neither Jesus nor the Bible promotes socialism.  Jesus taught that the church should be charitable and provide alms of their own free will to help the poor.  Socialism is a system that makes the state god, and robs one group of individuals to re-distribute their wealth to others by force of law.  If it was up to me, we would gradually eliminate the welfare state, and shrink the government down to the size it was in the 1920s.  No Christian should support socialism, and I can easily go through any arguments they make to try to show how socialism lines up with scripture and prove them wrong.  I have done it before.

We've sat up here in Canada and watched as deregulation and right wing economic policies caused bubble after bubble and hamstrung the American economy. If Trump gets elected, the American economy will get put through the meat grinder. Please don't elect him. Canada and America have some of the most bilateral trade in the world, and the instant the American economy implodes, ours will go down with it.

The more I see attacks like this, the more I wonder if I am wrong not to support Donald Trump.  If you don't like him, he must be pretty good.  Still, I think Ted Cruz is a better choice, but seeing the fear and dread among liberals towards Trump makes me wonder.

I am very interested in reading your rebuttal to socialism versus Christianity.  Please see if my perspectives will be able to align with yours by convincing me.

We only need to measure your perspectives against the Bible, not our own.  The Bible is the plumline.  The Bible is the standard.   Bernie Sanders' socialist principles don't align with the Bible either.    Prove that your perspectives agree with the Bible.

It is really pretty simple how I would take this on.  I would challenge you to show where Jesus or any of the Apostles ever looked to government as the solution to the poor.  I would show how Jesus always taught us to be cheerful givers of our own accord, and there was no mention of anything close to socialism.  I would take on the one instance where there is an appearance of socialism in Acts, and show how that was voluntary, and those who didn't want to participate didn't have to.  We are taught as Christians to look to God as our source, not government.  If you really want to debate this one on one, I would be open to a Soap Box debate, but you should have a pretty good idea of my arguments.  You will have to show Jesus, Paul, James, John, etc., teaching us to look to government.  I don't believe you have a chance of succeeding.  I on the other hand will have to show what Jesus actually did teach us to do.

Robin Hood, I essentially agree with you and discuss this in some depth on Christian Forums under Politics, then General Political Discussion, on the second page under a thread I started titled "A Chrisitan Economy".  On that forum I am known as Only a Sojourner. I agree with many of Mr Sanders stands on economic issues. I have difficulty with his position on Christian social issues, eg, gay marriage & abortion. You will find scant support for Bernie Sanders views on this forum. Certain types of views tend to go together and support for socialism, or  even Keynsian economics do not go together with conservative Christian moral values in the US. The reasons are largely soicological- historical and not based on any intinsic logic. Unfortunately I do not have the time to discuss this subject in depth at this time on this forum. However if you are interested check out the other forum where I was engaged in an extended dialogue on the subject. My views are quite atypical although not entirely unique.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
