It would have been wasted time and words. He had very limited time and had to choose the topics to speak to that would have a better result of building relationships. If you have a hard lesson to learn, you are going to be more receptive to a friend than a foe. I agree. Jesus visited the tax collectors and sinners, sat with them, talked with them, ate with them, and was accused by the Pharisees for doing so. Matthew 9 10Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples.11When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, "Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?" 12But when Jesus heard this, He said, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick Matthew 5:46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? The Pope does so as well, and he also is accused. yes Jesus sat with tax collectors and sinners. But didn't he always call for repentance? He didn't just ignore sin He didn't leave people feeling like they can continue in their sin. He exposed it. Go and sin no more. And neither of you know what went on behind the scenes, off camera. Since when is judging by only what is made public what we are called to do as followers of Christ? did the woman at the well go away saying Jesus did not condemn her sin of living with a man who was not her husband? Where does it say Jesus condemned her at all in any way? John 8 10Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” 11She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.” He didn't ask if Jesus condemned HER. They were no longer in the public eye. 8Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. What does that have to do with my post which was quoted about not knowing what when on behind the scenes, out of the public eye?
