Post Signatures

I am wondering why some folks have long signatures in their posts? I know this isn't an urgent life matter, but personally I find it distracting. I realize that I can change my settings to ignore everyone's signatures, but I don't want to do that. I enjoy reading the smaller ones. It's just that some are so long that it gets distracting when you have to scroll and scroll and scroll down just to get to the next post.

Maybe then you should go into your "Controls" and in there somewhere should be a place where you can change your own board settings. You can choose whether or not you view member signatures. I really enjoy seeing signatures (long or not) and I would hate to see that restricted because someone complains about it.

If you will re-read my post, I mentioned that I am already aware of the option to change my control settings but I don't want to do that because I enjoy reading signatures as well. I didn't say anything about restricting them, either.

My point is that some of them can be so long that it's distracting when I'm reading a thread. I have seen some that were a page long in themselves. We are all entitled to like them or not.

Forgive me, I didn't notice the part about you being aware of that option.

I just want to say, that I didn't say that you particularly mentioned restricting them, but I know that is where it could lead if people complain about the length.

If it proves to be a problem, I think people should just use the option of turning off the signatures.

Thanks for that, Deirdre, really. I apologize too if my post came across as snippy. It really wasn't meant to.

To be honest, I don't know why I even posted the thread to begin with. Yes, longer signatures can be distracting, but it certainly doesn't warrant needing to be posted! I wish I could erase this whole thread.

I think it's because for the last couple of days my heart has felt heavy and I don't know why. Things are going well and I'm blessed. I just can't explain it. I came to the boards to "comfort" myself and the long signatures just bothered me at that time. The heaviness is still there and I'm praying the Lord will reveal to me what it is!

Yeah, me too, but I guess it is a bandwidth use problem. I am so glad and thankful this forum is here, you'll here no complaints out of me.
