Isaiah 66:1–2 (AV)

1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Yes God did commission Solomon to build the temple.   It is plainly stated in scripture.

Solomon Anointed to Build the Temple

1 Chronicles 22
7David said to Solomon, "My son, I had intended to build a house to the name of the LORD my God. 8"But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 'You have shed much blood and have waged great wars; you shall not build a house to My name, because you have shed so much blood on the earth before Me. 9'Behold, a son will be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days. 10'He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.' 11"Now, my son, the LORD be with you that you may be successful, and build the house of the LORD your God just as He has spoken concerning you

Solomon Praises the Lord

1 Kings 8
18"But the LORD said to my father David, 'Because it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was in your heart. 19'Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will be born to you, he will build the house for My name.' 20"Now the LORD has fulfilled His word which He spoke; for I have risen in place of my father David and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel

This is all good, and the Lord said I believe to those who were upright in the things of the Law, abiding in all the holidays and all the rest,

he told them in addition to that , I am asking you not to be proud and arrogant, and selfish.

If the disobey the things of the Law they were CUT OFF been with a contrite spirit and all the rest would not help, still sinner for not keeping the SABBATH  ( just an exable), hope that's a helpfully opinion.

if you are suggesting that ne day will buit a temple that is us. That I accept. But he ask Solomon to built that first Temple, the paranoid one, who thought he may be the Christ by marrying all those women from around the world, and making peace that way. That's my secret opinion. Thats is not a secret any more.

I don't follow Solomon, I Follow Christ.

1 Chronicles 22 is the biblical record of David's interpretation of 2 Samuel 7:1-13. And subsequently 1 Kings 8 is the biblical record of Solomon's pass down from his father's interpretation of 2 Samuel 7:12-13.

Setting aside 2 Samuel 7:1-11 for now since David did not build the Temple and that is not what the thread is actually about, but rather Solomon building the Temple...

Let's compare scripture with scripture (which is more than proof texting, as you call it). Neither of which Roman Catholicism (and Protestant Denominations that have adopted Roman Catholic dependency upon the traditions of men) rely upon or use very often. But God prescribes* this practice anyway...

* I will be glad to debate this in another thread. Just not here. This is too important a topic to derail it.

2 Samuel 7:12–13 (AV)

12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

Zechariah 6:12–13 (AV)

12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:

13 Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

The Word of the Lord to Solomon

1 Kings 6

11Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon saying, 12Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in My statutes and execute My ordinances and keep all My commandments by walking in them, then I will carry out My word with you which I spoke to David your father. 13“I will dwell among the sons of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel.”

Glory of the Lord fills the Temple - The House of the Lord

1 Kings 8

1Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ households of the sons of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the city of David, which is Zion. 2All the men of Israel assembled themselves to King Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month. 3Then all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark. 4They brought up the ark of the LORD and the tent of meeting and all the holy utensils, which were in the tent, and the priests and the Levites brought them up. 5And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and oxen they could not be counted or numbered. 6Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubim. 7For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim made a covering over the ark and its poles from above8But the poles were so long that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place before the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen outside; they are there to this day. 9There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, where the LORD made a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. 10It happened that when the priests came from the holy place, the cloud filled the house of the LORD11so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD.

It appears God put His mark of approval on Solomon's Temple.

The LORD conceded to the construction of the Temple (as he had conceded the monarchy in 1 Samuel 8) and to deal with Israel on that basis henceforth.

That is not the question.

The question is, Did God Commission (Command) Solomon to Build the Temple?

Since God did not commission or command Solomon to build the Temple (2 Samuel 7:12-13 / Zechariah 6:12-13, Isaiah 66:1-2) but God placed his name on the Temple Solomon built anyway... it is a concession nevertheless.

David's and Solomon's words contradict you, and they are words of scripture.

I think I will take their words in scripture over yours contradicting them any day my friend.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
