i have read several people who have doctor degrees in Hebrew and Greek that would disagree with you.  Michael Hiser would be the last.

I take the Bible literally where it is so;

Isa. 40:22, It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

(Circle of the Earth) Heb. chug, Translated circle (v. 22); circuit, (Job 22:14); and compass (Pr. 8:27). This word in the Bible revealed that the Earth was round, long before men in general believed it was so.

Since chug does not refer to a sphere, it must not be considered to refer to a round Earth.  The Hebrews had a different word for sphere.  But you are correct that it doesn't necessarily refer to a flat Earth.  More likely, the writer is referring to the horizon, circular in shape.

"The Hebrew word chugh here translated “circle” may be rendered “sphere.” - O RLY?  The Hebrew word (חוג) refers to a circle, and to the action of circling.

Strong's Concordance
chug: vault, horizon

Original Word: חוּג
Part of Speech: Noun Masculine
Transliteration: chug
Phonetic Spelling: (khoog)
Short Definition: circle

The Earth is round and always was.

I know doctors with doctors degrees who's patients die while they pretend to heal them. One in particular operated on my mother and allegedly removed her tonsils. A year later she went to another doctor with a doctors degree, complaining of a sore throat. He examined her and stated, her tonsils were enlarged and needed removing. He removed them for her.

What does Hisler disagree with? That maybe the earth could possibly be flat?

he is not a medical doctor, he has a doctorate degree in Hebrew...   and no he does not believe the earth is flat, but does say that if you take the Hebrew descriptions of the earth it is flat earth......   that is why several people here believe in the flat earth theory for they take the Bible in the original languages literally...

No worries, yes I knew he was not a medic. I was just saying sometimes the word Dr, means nothing at all. The bloke who operated on my mother was a medical doctor, a Specialist in the field of ear, nose and throat, he allegedly removed my mothers tonsils, charged her several thousand dollars, and in fact left them there. He did cut her up, but left them there. He is no longer a medic, ,he's now a quack!

If you reread my post you'll see that the Hebrew word "chug" should not be translated as sphere which is what I stated.  Horizon makes more sense and does not support the concept of a flat Earth.

Thank you Kan. That's the way to learn anything. Its harder to get rid of old teaching than absorb new.

There were two great folds recorded in Scripture, Lucifers flood, and Noahs flood and there is a great difference between them. I have compiled Scriptures which describe each one andanyone can see the great difference between them. I will for you post these again. You read them and make up your own mind and forget others who boldly call God a lier and say these scriptures do not exist or mean what they say. Take your time and absorb them, you will see it.

I'm definitely with you on that. The fossil record supports an ancient earth and has a gap layer with no life pointing to a destruction upon the earth that happened long ago, and then a layer of new life that appears suddenly after that (i.e., many species suddenly show up, not some gradual evolution).

I once received a letter from a Christian brother who was a geologist thanking me for teaching the gap idea, as he believed God's Word, but the interpretation he was taught didn't agree with the actual evidence the earth's record shows.

Many brethren simply have their mind wrapped up in this present world, so they have a difficult time with Biblical views of the world that then was compared with the future new heavens and a new earth. Yet God gave us those comparisons in His Word, for those who find it.

There's a Geologist by the name of Gaines R. Johnson who's written several books on geology and the Gap Theory.  I highly recommend his work, especially to another geologist.  I also recommend Steven Dill's book, In the Beginnings for his take on the Gap Theory.  I happen to agree with their work, but even if you don't, it will give someone a better understanding of why some of us believe in the Gap Theory.
