We must remember, we cannot pray for the dead.  The fate of the dead is already sealed.

Hmm when I said I can pray for terrorists to be saved (and stop being terrorists), I did mean while they were alive. I know the fate of a dead person has already been determined.

My husband reminded me of the book Son of Hamas, how a terrorist found Jesus and changed. There are many such stories out there.

C. H. Spurgeon (Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit [Pilgrim Publications], 24:410-411) reported how John Bunyan said “that he often felt while preaching that he could give his own salvation for the salvation of his hearers.” Then Spurgeon stuck the knife in: “And I pity the man who has not felt the same.”

This paints a picture of caring.  I don't have much sympathy for terrorists.  But I wonder if I should.  For someone to become a terrorist, I believe has been deceived, to devote themselves to Satan's lies.

Isn't our Christian duty to the innocent?

(Technically no one is truly innocent.)

We should help folks who are "innocent" but that doesnt mean we shouldnt also feel sad that a terrorist dies lost in sin for an eternity in hell or that we shouldnt wish them saved too.

You came along after this event in my personal life, but just over a year ago my brother in law was murdered. He is with Christ now, so in that I can rejoice. I pray for the salvation of his killer and I forgive him as Christ has told us to forgive others. I am however glad he is in prison for life and cannot harm anyone else.

I didn't know any of this.  You speak as a true Christian when you pray that the murderer be saved.

Certainly.  Criminals, terrorists, etc need to be dealt with and stopped.  I can not find any joy in any soul going to hell.  I have not killed anyone, yet I don't consider myself any more deserving of God's mercy than another.

What the Bible Says About Prayer Against One's Enemies

Isn't God the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow?

From the site you provided:

Psalms 104:35Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.

Now, from the same bible, it says:

Ezekiel 18:23  Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?

1 Timothy 2:4  who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

2 Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

So yes, I do believe God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow, just as scripture says.  I read that God does desire all people to be saved, and He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.

But yet when David prays against his enemies in Psalms, God refers to David in the warmest regard "After removing Saul, he made David their king. He testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do."   [NIV, Acts 13:22]

This is a very hard time and some of us get more news from multiple sources so we are very aware of the amount of terrorism that is happening and the horror and suffering it is causing on a wide scale - just as per their plan. We need to understand & support each other in the challenge to deal with these horrible events we are seeing.  I have some days when I am more compassionate and understanding and days when I am feeling less so and  more feeling beaten down.  Sometimes the woes of this world almost are too much to bear.   I can relate to Saved One - he wants the killing and suffering to stop. Let the would be victims of Terror  be protected O mighty Lord GOD.

Some days,  I feel so acutely aware of the victims and weep & pray for the world , my heart & prayers are for them, that they and their families souls will repent & be saved before they are murdered in brutal terrorism. I pray for the saints that are being tortured, raped & killed for GOD to bestow peace & give them Godly courage & that God will take away their pain & suffering.

I pray also for the demonized followers of Islam that they would repent & turn to the real God the God who is Holy who Loves and who is Just, and that Father God would give them mercy  & the grace that they be released from Satan's grip and saved by the Lord Yeshua and give Glory to The Most High LORD GOD Yahweh who Saves!

I admit it is hard for me to pray for the terrorists (like Boko Haram) who killed 86 innocent children.  I'd like to know that God's judgment will be poured out in full upon those people, both here on Earth and in the afterlife.  I will pray for the families of these innocent children.  This is something no loving parent should have to live with ever.  When my wife and I lost two children during pregnancy, it was devastating.  I can only imagine how these parents and relatives must feel, if they themselves are still alive.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
