This is a teaching that gets missed by many Christians. When God justifies a sinner, He makes him, and declares him, to be as righteous as Christ. This is called Amazing Grace.

I believe the Lord is the one who will escort His Body, His Bride, and His Building -- not the other way around! Christians should understand that all three metaphors apply to the Church, which is ultimately the Lamb's Wife.

Hi Ezra,

Which scripture/s are you referring to that actually say the `called out ones` are `a bride,` the Lamb`s wife. Those symbols always refer to Israel. (Israel is the bride, the wife of the Lamb)

`I will betroth you to me for ever;....` (Hosea 2: 19)

`For your Maker is your husband....` (Isa. 54: 5)

As to `the building` that is in relation to God being the architect & the one who `builds us together.

`For we are God`s fellow workers; you are God`s field, you are God`s building.` (1 Cor. 3: 9)

The word `Body` is used many times to refer to Christ`s Body, & He is the Head of the Body.

`(God) put all things under His feet & gave Him to be Head over all things to the church, which is His body,...` (Eph. 1: 22 & 23)

As who is `escorting,` the Greek word `apantesis` is used only on three occasions in the New Testament, each with the connotation of escorting a person to their destination.

`Then we who are alive & remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet, (escort the Lord to His destination)...` (1 Thess. 5: 17)

Yes to believe that the church will be in a percieved state of perfection is amiss, nor will she be gathered on account of being perfect, indeed it is impossible for the most of the church has gone before and has gone in a state of imperfection yet we read that the DEAD in Christ will be first to rise.

What will happen is that our perfection will be made manifest when the Lord appears for we ARE perfect in Christ, declared to be so by God.

Hi TehMill,

I believe, (as I think you do also) that we will all be made perfect when we see Him, for we shall be like Him, -

`Beloved, now we are children of God; & it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him as He is.` (1 John 3: 2)

However the Eph. 4, ( 11 - 16) scriptures are related to DOCTRINE. Many people have died over the centuries standing for certain truths that we today take for granted & don`t have to contend for to such a degree. The Holy Spirit is still leading us into all truth, as Jesus said He would, & so we still have some truths that need clarifying so we are not `tossed to & fro & carried about with every wind of DOCTRINE.` (Eph. 4: 14)

Both individual maturing & corporate Body standing for the truths as they are revealed over the centuries by the Holy Spirit.

Hi Ezra,

Amen bro, I totally agree - individual maturity when the Lord comes. I also believe that the Body corporately will receive all the truths that the Holy Spirit is leading us into.

`Then we who are alive & remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet, (escort the Lord to His destination)...` (1 Thess. 4: 17) [corrected]

Strong's Concordance
apantésis: a meeting

Original Word: ἀπάντησις, εως, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: apantésis
Phonetic Spelling: (ap-an'-tay-sis)
Short Definition: the act of meeting, to meet
Definition: the act of meeting, to meet (a phrase seemingly almost technical for the reception of a newly arrived official).

As you can see, the word means meeting, not escorting. Technically it means reception. So you must be using a faulty translation, which produces a faulty interpretation. If anyone is doing the escorting, it is the Lord, not the Church.

As to the Church being the Bride of Christ, please review Ephesians 5 and Revelation 19, among many other passages. Israel is not in view, but the Church is.

Hi Ezra,

You will note that I said, `the Greek word `apantesis` is used only on three occasions in the New Testament, each with the connotation of escorting a person to their destination. Here is an example -

`And from there, when the brethren heard about us, they came to meet us as far as Appii Forum & the Three Inns. When Paul saw them, he thanked God & took courage.` (Acts 28: 15)

Here we see that the brethren came to `meet` Paul, to escort him as far a Appii & the Three Inns.

We do the escorting as the Lord is the victor.

I see you have NO scripture for the Body of Christ being the bride. Eph. 5 is an exhortation to husbands to love their wives as their own body. We are Christ`s body.

Rev. 19, concerns Israel as that is who the Lord will come at the end of the trb, to deliver. Note also that the `wedding feast,` in Matt. 22: 11 shows that it is on earth.

In the following scriptures we can see how specifically & consistently Jesus` name (Jesus) & titles (Lord & Christ) are used to designate the Day. (The Day of Christ)

`…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the Day of Jesus Christ.` (Phil. 1: 6)

`And this I pray, that your love may abound still more & more in knowledge & discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere & without offence till the Day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory & praise of God.` (Phil 1: 9 – 11)

`I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance & all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the Day of our Lord Jesus Christ.` (1 Cor. 1: 4 – 8)

`For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity & godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, & more abundantly towards you. For we are not writing any other things to you than what you read or understand. Now I trust you will understand, even to the end (as also you have understood us in part), that we are your boast as you also are ours, in the Day of the Lord Jesus (Christ).` (2 Cor. 1: 12 – 14)

The Day of Christ is the great event of our `gathering together,` to meet Christ the Head. This is specifically when the corporate Body of Christ from all over the world has reached full maturity of faith of Christ`s purposes, recognizing & obeying His authority & not man`s authority. It is the time when the Head, Christ is physically joined with His people, the Body of Christ.

Thus the Day of Christ relates, I believe, solely to the Body of Christ, & its removal from the earth. Paul is the only one who mentions this day and he is distinctly the Apostle to the Body of Christ.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
