Thanks. I think the question, for me is, after accepting him into my home, would I be able to focus on him. I think I would be like Martha. I pray that I God would soften my heart to be like Mary.

If Jesus was to come to my door I would let him. But like Can Do my house is always a mess, with having three young children. I would let Jesus in but I honestly do not know if I would be able to focus on Him 100%. I would be worrying about the state of my house and what He thought of it.

I would hope He wouldn't mind the dog hair that is always there. I'm sure he wouldn't and once I got past the shock I would offer anything I had.

I can't even imagine how exiting that would be. I would definately let Him in!

I'm also very glad to see I'm not the only one whose house is always in dissarray. :) My house is always messy, kids stuff everywhere, coats, shoes, just lots of stuff all over. It's not like it's dirty, cuz we do clean, but just messy. Sometimes I do get embarrassed when people show up unexpectedly, but oh well. lol

I came across this thread last night just as Faithie posted it and couldn't respond because my heart was so full. The Lord has been working in me lately and I tend to well up in tears in His presence.

The way I read the original post was regarding my spiritual/emotional house, rather than my physical house. (Shoot, He can come to my apartment anytime He wants, it's clean 98% of the time! Then again, I'm single and don't have any children! When I first became a Christian 21 years ago, something a wonderful, old, Christian man told me was that we are stewards over what God gives us on the earth. He told me to take care of the things I had and not hold onto them too tightly. He told me to keep my home and my car clean. "That's part of good stewardship," he said. It just stuck with me and so I became a cleaner! Again, I don't have children and have it much easier than parents do!)

Anyway, I read this post as meaning my spiritual/emotional house. I've been clinging to the Lord lately, asking Him to work out of me all the things that aren't of Him and fill me with everything that's of Him. He's been walking me through each "room" in my "house" in such a loving, gentle way. It's not been very easy and there are things that were/are hard for me to surrender! Boy, when you ask Him to do this, you'd better mean it because He'll take you up on the offer! LOL He brings me to scriptures that comfort and encourage me.

I'm just sick and tired of trying to do things my way anymore. I've had 38 years to prove my way doesn't work! For 21 years I've loved the Lord and tried to live as I felt He would want me to. I was in the Word, prayer, etc., but there were just certain areas/things in my life that I couldn't bring myself to surrender.

I just pray that I can continue to sing, "I Surrender All" and do it. It's a lot better than singing, "I Surrender Some"!

I don't know why I'm posting this. Part of me is just reflecting and thinking out loud I think. Thanks for reading my ramblings. God bless you all to overflowing with His Goodness and Mercy!

Yeah I would let HIm in. My house ia always spotless (just me and hubby and 2 boxer dogs) but as we all know, He doesn't look at how clean or not our homes are. I would ask Him so many questions about life and about God.

i would fall at his feet and probably get my most expensive perfume and pour it on his feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the bible says that "mary" sitting at jesus feet not worrying about her house was better than martha......

The Lord already knows what my house looks like, so I'd let Him in. The Lord already knows what's in my heart....so I'd let Him in.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
