Ah here I am at 3:40 am and not able to get to sleep...strangest thing...I keep thinking of a story that happened to me....and can't get it out of my mind...so here goes...I'm gonna post it...and pray that for some reason I was led to do this so as to help someone....I suppose you can put almost any situation in to compare this with...I will try to keep it as short as possible... :b:

Money troubles...they happen to all of us at one time or another in our lives...as I sat praying one day asking God how in the world are we gonna save enough for our taxes (they went up more than we anticipated) He clearly told me to "sell your car" at the time I didn't work....and any errands could be run after hubby got and my dad lived right around the corner if I ever needed a vehicle...though I was loath to give up my vehicle I made the decision to do it...to be obedient and put a for sale sign in the window...well in the meantime I was so excited cuz I knew its what God told me to do....I put an ad in the paper and everything...and seeing how it what He told me to do I of course expected immediate results...

A couple weeks went by and I started having doubts....these little feelings that I was mistaken...how could I have been so wrong as to believe that God spoke to me and told me do this..theres my car still sitting there...I was upset to say the least....a whole 30 days went by and still no sale...I couldn't believe it...how could I have been so wrong...do I not know God voice when He speaks to me?

Heres what I learned from that experience as God showed me later...His reward for my obedience wasn't in the sale of my car....His reward was meant to come from elsewhere but I was so busy being disheartened that I missed it....

My advice....be obedient to the Lord....but don't expect the reward to come from just one place....don't focus on one thing...God is bigger than that :b: Its your obedience that counts...just because He doesn't reward you how you first expected doesn't mean He isn't listening...if you focus one avenue too intently His blessing is gonna fly over your head as your looking down....Look up people and He will be faithful to answer

Love and Blessings,

Angel

Hey!

If you don't mind sharing . . . I'm a little lost.

What was the reward that came from "elsewhere?"

And did you ever find a purpose for putting your car up for sale? Or how did everything end up?

It would help me to understand these things - thanks!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You can ask anything of me neb...I don't mind... :P

My reward was the job given to me that I have now a couple days a week...it really really helps....you see I put the car up for sale which in turn caught the attention of the store owner who stopped by one day...I didn't tell him anything of course about our money woes at that time...but he said he kept thinking about me and how great it would be to have me work at his store...(now understand I've known him for years but hadn't seen him in a long time either)

So when he first offered me the job...I was so focused on doing what I was sure God told me to do that I almost missed that opportunity, I'll admit I made the mistake of thinking that a quick fix was what God was going to do...but He had better plans more of a long term solution.

So I believe the purpose for putting up the car was to get this persons attention whom I hadn't seen in ages...he didn't even know it was mine until he stopped...the other purpose is it got the attention of a young couple in their late teens with a baby...they had to rely on their parents to take them to work and so forth because they couldn't afford a car...well in the ensuing weeks after I got off my behind and took that job and accepted it as a blessing through obedience we were able to sell the car to these kids for 500.00...a car that blue booked for a little over 3000.00..see how it all comes together? Or did I just confuse you more :whistling::P I'm good at that sometimes.

Update as up to today.....

By the way this job of mine allowed us to pay the taxes no problem and plus get a new van...one year old when we got it but the payments were low and my job payed for that transportation and property taxes too with some left over for Christmas....I paid double payments and its now paid off as of just a couple of weeks ago...its a 2002 Kia sedan...it was only 9,000.00 when we bought it. With a zero interest deal.

Now are all the woes done with...by goodness no...but I now have more faith in God and being obedient when He says something and to keep an open mind and not focus on just one thing...when you focus too hard on just one thing...in my case anyway, even what seems so obvious to others can be missed by you.

See all that came from putting my car up for sale...coincedence...I don't think so

Whew I'm tired now.... :b: You asked for it neb...remember that when you try to keep your head from spinning :taped::huh:

Love and Blessings,

Angel

Thanks, Angel!

Actually, what you have said makes perfect sense (the blessing of an analytical mind, I guess!).

Thanks for sharing, that does mean a lot to me. :whistling:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
