What are some of the things that annoy you about the Christian walk. I don't mean that living for God is annoying. I mean the things we experience or have to deal with that get your goat. Please no  names of persons

Here is one of mine.

Buffet bible study- basically people who pick which  bible verses they regard as canon. Eg  Ive had people tell me that the principles based on Paul's teaching aren't applicable because it was paul who said them, not Jesus. of this came up in a debate because they refuse to acknowledge that homosexuality is a sin and refused to accept the verses pointing it out. So in a nutshell, I accept what I want to accept.

Hi CM?,

This could go really pear shaped and get quite negative.

Actually i think it is a good question, but maybe should be phrased differently or  the word annoyed used in a different way.   Off my head quickly, i don't like people who eat and drink in the church sanctuary, especially when the service is taking place.  Some churches have strict rules about it and some don't.

I don't know of a nice way of saying it but people who think their half baked, or off the wall opinions or simple unbelief, pass muster as a biblical interpretation.

The Genesis account of Creation cannot be figurative since it has now figurative language. If you don't believe ok, but please don't call it an interpretation. Song of Songs is this lovely wedding Song written for a young couple in Solomon's court. They sat together at the kings table with Solomon sitting at the head of the table. There is absolutely nothing indicating that the groom is Christ, the bride is the church or that the fruits of the garden are sex. But pick up a hundred commentaries and you will get a hundred different ways to compare the things in Song of Songs to. All of them probably wrong.

And oh please stop with the flights of fancy in prophetic literature, I feel like I am going to break out in hives. Danial and the Revelation are by far the easiest books in the bible to do an exposition. With Revelations remember seals Rev 1-7, trumpets Rev 8-14, vials of wrath Rev 18-21. And in Danial it's Babylon, Medo Persia, Greece, Rome.

Stop it, STOP IT I SAY! Your driving me crazy with this. My councilors thinks it will help if I learn to control my breathing

Some "pet" peeves I have:

- Folks who  discount everything you say to them in a discussion , and then toss childish insults at you for not wanting to continue talking with them.

- When you tell someone the things that have happened to you in your walk with the Lord (or in your life before you came to the Lord), and you either get the "deer in the headlights" look, or a patronizing comment that makes you want to scream.

- "Prophets" who cannot even tell you what the winning lottery numbers are for this week, let alone anything from God.

- People who keep trying to guess who the Antichrist is.

- People who keep "predicting" when the Rapture and/ or Second Coming will be (and keep getting it wrong)

- The whole "Blood Moons" thing.  Seriously: I know Scripture says the moon will turn to blood, but not every 3 months or so!!!!  At this rate, it may as well be the new Lucky Charms marshmallow !!!

- New Atheists: they insist their "theories" are true, but them exempt themselves from their own theories. Kind of akin to someone who claims they don't believe in guns, but then steals your gun and tries to shoot you with it.

- Folks who claim not to believe Scripture, but bring it up very 5 minutes.

And lastly:

- People who say "the Bible was written by farmers/shepherd/old men/ other insipid derogatory comment" but never looked into the people who actually wrote it, let alone how it was written and selected.

I'm just saying, if people worked on their cars like they 'interpret' Scripture there would be a spike in people needing public transportation. Don't get me wrong if you want to allegorize a text of Scripture, that's perfectly fine, it's a nice devotional way of reading and applying Scripture. Paint it any color you like, use whatever kind of seat covers appeal to you, play whatever you like on the radio but please don't tinker with the engine if you don't know what your doing. Thanks for letting me vent, l feel much better now.

Yea, stop calculating the number of the Beast please. Newsflash, your not going to have any trouble knowing who this guy is. When some lunatic starts an unprecedented rampage decimating and plunging the world into apocalyptic carnage that will be a dead give away. I don't know, maybe the unprecedented blasphemy or the destruction of anything called God might give us a clue.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
