>>Ishah can mean woman or it can mean wife depending on the context. When it says wife it means wife in Genesis 2. The context distinguishes between woman and wife in that chapter.

What is it about the context, which makes you think that eshah should be interpreted as wife and not woman?

>>Because when ishah is used to denote her gender in Gen. 2:22-23, She is woman or literally "man with a womb."

Your stated reason supports the interpretation of woman rather than wife.

In verses 22-23, yes, but that is not the where the question lies. We are talking about verse 24 where the word wife is used. That is where the translation issue lies. It is also the verse that shows that you don

Elohim. But if you mean the One God, then YHWH.

Spirit is for God, and those who worship Him in spirit and in truth must they worship.

John 4:24, from the Aramaic.

God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent.

Numbers 23:19

And YHWH said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade [him], and prevail also: go forth, and do so.

Ok, I am new to this discussion so please be gentle in your criticism of my post(s). I have been reading this thread the past few days and have noticed alot of negative comments on this issue. I just recently started reading the Bible every night and I have read Leviticus chapter 18. It clearly states that homosexuality is not allowed.

My personal opinion? I think it is really weird that 2 people of the same sex would be attracted to each other. But as long as they don't bother me, I don't care.

However, I do not agree with them getting married. What does that tell todays children? That it is ok for this to happen? We talked about it in Psychology the other day. The main reason that alot of people are gay is because they had a weak father and a domineering mother.

This was uncalled for.

You know what I don't like people who whine but seriously,

Bro Rebel you got it very right, un-called for.

Ever consider the fact that there might be some un-saved folks going thru your postings ?

I am starting to see the whole serious trend thing.

I need to make a correction. It does not clearly state that it is not allowed, but it comes pretty close to almost clearly stating it.

1. God hates homosexuality but he loves the homosexual and wants him/her to repent of this wickedness and be delivered from these unnatural desires. Homosexuals should not be mistreated or harmed, or oppressed in anyway, but we must tell them the truth as revealed in Levitcus chapter 18. All we can do is be a light, and they have to make the choice.

My personal opinion? I think it is really weird that 2 people of the same sex would be attracted to each other. But as long as they don't bother me, I don't care.

2. Well, the homosexual community is not satisfied with us letting them do their thing in the privacy of their own homes. They are out to recruit others to join them. They are seeking "minority" status. They want the same minority status as African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, etc. simply because of their sexual orientation!! How weird is that? They want it taught as acceptable in schools and they want teachers to encourage teens to "experiment." They won't leave us alone until the have redefined the family and morality.

3. The family is so important. There deep spiritual issues as to why people turn to this lifestyle. A strong family unit is essential, but I believe that there are people caught up in the lifestyle that need to be delivered spiritually from it. It has hold on them in their minds and in their hearts. Mostly they need our prayers of intercession that God will call and use people to reach out with the Word of Life and the message of salvation.

It does not clearly state that it is not allowed

It really isn't about what's "allowed" and "not allowed". Thank God we don't live by rigid rules and in fear. (And I don't blaspheme, that is a sincere thanks.) It's about what God says is wrong - and He says it's wrong because it is bad for us. Like a loving Father, He wants to keep us from what will harm us. And he uses strong language to warn us. Abomination, unnatural, perversion.

If one is a Christian, one has an inner desire to please their Father. They don't obey because it's "not allowed", or because they fear what will happen to them, that only brings about resentment. They obey because they sincerely want to please God and have put their own pride aside out of understanding that their Father knows what is best for them.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
