Do you fear the Lord??

Psl. 111:10

10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

We can fear the Lord and yet love Him

When I think of how close I want to be to Him and how far away from Him I am it breaks my heart.

We are all made pure and sinless in His sight but I feel so unworthy of His love His forgiveness, His mercy and Grace......

we no longer take responsbility for our sin we no longer humbly repent before the Lord we no longer get on our knees before the Lord and I think it is because we no longer fear the Lord.........

we= the body of christians

Any thoughts

Do i fear the LORD?

Let me be the first to say "Not like i should." I always think God is love, he wouldn't do that to me...

:whistling: well God never changes he has struck down people in the Church for lying, how many times do we lie and because of his grace he doesn't strike us dead? God never changes and he has stuck people down, yet i fool myself by thinking God can't do that... That is a lie from Hell, yet it always gets me :taped:

The scripture i was reffering to is Acts 5

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matt 10:28

God has high expectations; high standards.

Salvation is free, but the upkeep is expensive.

We must surrender our life to Him, become obedient to His word. Daily.

Romans 12:1,2

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Our Bible lets us know we must be born again. (John 3:3). That born again life must be manifested in our life daily.

Gal. 5:19-21

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of which I tell you before, as I also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Gal 5:22-24

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

We owe Him more than lip service, and He will not accept less than a holiness life from us. (Eph 5:27)

He sent the Holy Spirit to help us. The Holy Spirit is not weak. (John 14:26 and John 15:26)

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Titus 2:11-14)

Truly, our new life in Him must be manifested daily. We are His hands and feet and mouth (voice) here on earth, 'till He comes again. (Matt 5:13-16)

I think the closer we come to the Lord the more we know how very much we need Him

When we spend time with Him the more we relize how unworthy we are

We we can boldly enter into His presense just the thougth of that humbles me

We need His word in us and we need to stand on it and the more we do that the more we realize just how much in need of a Saviour we are,

I praise Him for my Salvation but know I am so unworthy

I Worship Him for His death on the Cross and realize that I did not diserve it

The Bible is full of promises to those who love Him and all I can do is stand on those promeses..

Remember that old song STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING

today we as christians have no modesty no shame in how we dress especially women and we have no shame in what we read watch on TV or who we associate with, becuase we have no fear of the Lord..............

Sad is it not, that the body of Christ is so fearless !!!!!

Praise ye The Lord.

Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord.

That delighteth greatly in His commandments.

His seed shall be mighty upon earth:

The generation of the upright shall be blessed.

I'm ashamed to say that it was mainly fear that finally got my dumb head straight.

that could be said about alot of us, but then we Love the Lord and the fear is a differnt kind of fear I think.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God (sermon by Johnethen Edwards-sp)

We are so unworthy and we know it what of all the people who do not know it and have no fear? That is tragic !!!

May I recommend a book by John Bevere called "The Fear of the Lord"? It's a great read. Has anyone read it? I think this topic needs to be preached more often, and correctly, in church. Far too many Christians, and more unfortunately, non-Christians, have a gross misunderstanding as what it really means to "fear" the Lord.

In my opinion, three of the most under-preached topics are....

Sin/Repentence

Humility

Fear of the Lord

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
