Can anyone explain to me exactly what his word means, because it seems that  originally while it started out as a term to  refer to a hatred of women it now refers to anything said by a man about anything related to women

Double speak... the shell of any word can be emptied of original meaning and filled with whatever is popular or faddish.

Pro Choice for example implies choice for all but the one most affected by abortion... the baby.

Hello brother,

Just curious if you happened to notice what the last verse of that passage says?

16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.

Still convinced that is just for one church despite the plural use of the word?

God bless

So I guess every women in your church and all churches of all time are wearing head covering, right?

There was a Star Trek Enterprise episode about the Orion slave trade. These green creatures sold their females into slavery around the galaxy with the undertones in all Star Trek TV series that referred to them as sex slaves. But the episode in STE revealed in the end that it was the women themselves who were the taskmasters. Not the male Orions nor the slave owners they were sold to.

The longer I live and observe, the more I realize the exploited exploit those who exploit them.

I'm not speaking of some paranoid conspiracy theory drummed up by women-haters / misogynists...

but rather what is built into the fallen nature of men and women. And that it is to be ware of along with

all the evil men are capable of.

Now go back and read the Bible in the Old testament especially and see the sway women had in a time when they were "treated like chattel."

Eve took the first bite.

Pharaoh's daughter took Moses in (knowing he was a Hebrew baby).

Sarah prompted Abraham to knock up her slave, and later to throw her and his son out (at the Lord's insistence he listen to Sarah).

Jezebel... and Salome (and mom), Esther... on and on...

Something to consider...

On the very point I made previously, these head coverings were signs of authority to which they submitted.

The longer I live the more I realize this was to protect civilization (the rest of us) as well as to protect them.

Hair, yes, outside of those who have lost theirs beyond any control of their own, and then they typically wear wigs. ;)

Lol.  Nice fit brother. (I read the same book you did.)

Hair= head covering

too funny

Dont worry brother,  I have no desire to persuade you to see women as equals in Christ with the same opportunities to serve the Lord as men.  I only do this to encourage young women reading this who feel called to serve with no limitations.

You don't have to persuade me to see what I know to be true.  When did I say women are not equals in Christ?

This is the thing people always read into this issue isn't it?  It is hard to address all these misconceptions about why we adhere to that scripture and at the same time must keep explaining it is not in anyway based upon sense of human inadequacy, inequality or gender bias or prejudices.

I wonder if it isn't in following out the thought all the way through.  As in, we are the Body of Christ.  Can a lung digest food, or a stomach breathe air?  To me it is really that simple, but that could be because I am convinced that all scripture is God-breathed, and inerrant.  Seems to be an awful lot of disputing over that fact of late, can't seem to get away from it
