You're missing the point.  The point is that the Democrats use a lot of emotion and bluster;  they blow a lot of smoke,  but at the end of the day, they have no substance.   If Trump were as bad as his critics keep carping and whining that he is, then the Dems should have taken those seats in the special elections.

It has only been 5 months, some people are slower to catch on than others.

And you are missing the point that this exact same discussion was going on in 2009-2010 when the Dems held all the seats of power and everyone was saying the same thing about the Repubs that you are saying about the Dems. 

And this exact same discussion was going on in the late 80s and early 90's and the exact same thing was being said about the Dems then.

This was touted in the news as a win for the democrats, a message against trump. I saw the headlines (and ignored them) for days prior to this election, if not weeks before. The media made a big deal of this. 

I view a lot of sources of news both from the left and the right and did not see a single source that predicted a win for the Dems.  All anyone said is that the race was closer than anyone expected 2 months ago.

And you are ignoring history.  everything you are saying about the Dems was said about the Repubs 8 years ago when the Dems swept the house and the senate and the white house.   And all those things were said about the Dems in the mid 2000s when the Repubs had all the seats of power.  

As long as I have been alive and paying attention to politics, when a guy named Jimmy Carter was in the white house, people have been predicting the demise of the other party.   And none of them have come true, you might as well be telling me what day the world is going to end.

And if the Dems had one, your response would not be, "Oh well, this happens all of the time."   You would be joining in a chorus that would have touted it has a loss for Trump and that this is a harbinger for 2018 and 2020.

No, really it is not.  He has put what seems to be a good choice on SCOTUS.  Other than that he has said a lot and taken credit for a lot, but not really done much of anything positive.  

But he did do a very good job of building the Panama canal!
