I doubt it. Jews have always used the same calendar. The fact that the Temple was destroyed only polarized Jewish people around the Torah that much more. John was a Torah observant Jew, and would have continued counting the calendar as he always did.

Peter, John did not cease being Jews, and did not cease being Torah observant. One of the silly ideas people seem to have is that when Peter, John, Paul and others got saved, they started living like Gentiles. Jesus was the completion of their Jewish faith, not the abrogation of it.

So it really boils down to whether you believe the Bible which says that Jesus was in the tomb for 72 hours or not. You can believe the Bible, or you can believe the Catholic church; they can't both be right.

Being it is the Catholic Church who interpreted and decided which writings would be included in the New Testament Canon, and being that it was the Catholic Church that has been around since the Apostles and who handed down the teachings given by them, I'll go with how the Catholic Church interpret's Scripture. Besides, scholars across the spectrum of mainstream Christianity agree with the interpretation on when Jesus died and rose from the dead.

You apparently want to follow your own intepretation.

So be it!

It has nothing to do with "interpretation." There is nothing to interpret in "3 days and 3 nights." Any 6th grader could read that and understand it. The Bible is so simple you have needed help to misunderstand it. You prefer Catholocism over Jesus and Bible. So be it!!
