Bitter Root Among You?

Congratulations you continue to take on the tough topics. There is a great need for this for I believe that wolves have crept into the flock and have scattered it with every wind of doctrine. The Holy Spirit was given to unite the flock and lead them into all truth. We are to be of one mind and one spirit. Yet today there is confusion everywhere you look. It looks to me like you see the same thing. This condition has not come about by the Holy Spirit, but by a different spirit.

It is amazing to see how many doctrines are replicas of Babylonian paganism. I believe that God is calling His faithful to unite on complete truth. The Spirit of anti-christ is trying to unite the churches on fables and unity in diversity of belief. This negates the work of the Holy Spirit.

Back to the thread, I think all of the divisions, the finger pointing, the I'm right and your going to hell, and the every popular, EVERY body is justing finding their own way to God, theirs is just different from yours. If that isn't the the evil one working, I don't know what is!

Dear Pilgrim and stevehut,

I agree with you both, I just keep wanting to emphasize what I believe what the basis for understanding the meaning of bitter roots.

It was this portion of the Word:

Deuteronomy 29

16 (for you know that we dwelt in the land of Egypt and that we came through the nations which you passed by, 17 and you saw their abominations and their idols which were among them--wood and stone and silver and gold); 18 so that there may not be among you man or woman or family or tribe, whose heart turns away today from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations, and that there may not be among you a root bearing bitterness or wormwood; 19 and so it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, 'I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates of my heart'--as though the drunkard could be included with the sober.

It is the last verse that strikes me today, within today's body.

1 Thess. 5

5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
