Hmm, the problem is the Coptic Church does not affirm the divinity of Christ, while Jesus and Apostles do in the Bible (John 17:19-21, Colossians 2:9, Colossians 1:19, John 1:1-3, Titus 2:13, John 10:30, Hebrews 1:1-14, Revelation 1:8, Genesis 1:24, and beyond).

From what I found it looks like they hold to "Miaphysitism" - that the person of Jesus Christ, Divine nature and Human nature are united (μία, mia - "one" or "unity") in a compound nature ("physis"), the two being united without separation, without mixture, without confusion, and without alteration. Miaphysitism is not Monophysitism and the Monophysite churches are not Miaphysite.

I know what you mean. Those were the scriptures that I would read and bring up in reference to that subject. I read somewhere on an Orthodox site that said it could have been referring to Joseph's children from a different marriage or even Jesus's Cousins.

It's really a non issue for me personally. I can believe either view really.

I think they mean that he had a wife that died before he married Marry and that he was a lot older. I don't know for sure though

I feel stuck in-between  Orthodox and Evangelical Christianity because of some of this stuff.
