oh yea, by the way, the government has a wonderful way of fibbing to us, in 1979, they claimed they had a crisis, a shortage.... just about anyone that was living near the Chesapeak bay, could contest to this, that there were tankers lined up for miles fully loaded, actually over loaded with oil waiting to off load.... the only shortage we had, was that we had a shortage of storage facilities.... fact of the matter is, the USA alone was producing more oil that year, then the entire world was the year before......

GREED.....

yes, some of us would be unemployed if we did not drive, and there would be a lot of people that could not get their sewers cleaned out or their busted pipes repaired or their houses built or their big screen TV's delivered if everyone boycotted gass....

You mean we can't trust the government??? No way!!! :24:

Seriously, I remember that gas shortage. I sat in those lines before school in the morning, with my mom. Would you point me to a source where I can read about your theory? Interesting.

first off, i watched as tankers would pull in and off load oil on to another tanker sinking it down to where the water line would be well belose the surface of the water. no theory....

second, a lot of those that are self employed use a vehicle for service work, plumbers, heat and air peeps, delivery peeps, and many others...

Sorry to be stupid, but I really have no idea what you are saying.

not stupid, unless a person has been around ships and such, they might not ever even think about it..... most boats have a dividing line that is somewhat horizontal ( even small boats ).... this is a water line..... ships have a line ( water line ) for when the ship is loaded to its max capacity, and as it looses its load smaller marks will start showing up as the ship rises out of the water, some have numbers by them, indicating the depth of which it can go before reaching its max load capacity.

when a ships water line disappears, ( starts riding lower in the water ) this is an indication that the ship is being overloaded.... the tankers that i was watching out east, were way low....

anyways, i hope that helps some....

Average price of $22 in 1990 and average price in 2004 (finally found it) of $38.47 is almost double the price. By simple math it should at the very least be almost double the price. Account for inflation of 18% and bam you have $2.10 gas.

$38.47 is 75% more than $22

1.75 x $1.00 gas in 1990 is $1.75 + 18% inflation = $2.065 per gallon.

Now Add $0.45 - $0.70 for taxes and bam $2.50-$2.75 gas.

Now account for higher emissions requirements, China, and Refinery Capacity.

Gas is artifically held low in price by US government subsidies as well. Corprate welfare to oil companies is commonplace.

Even without tax, gas should be well over $1.75 a gallon. Actual prices without government intervention put it at around $5 - $7 a gallon.

Much of the oil that's used in the Northwest, however, comes from Alaska. Much of the oil used in the southeast, comes from the middle east. Why is it that the southeast has much cheaper gas prices than the Northwest?

Hrmm, maybe we should all start buying hybrid vehicles, using mass transit or... oh, what the heck, why don't we all go on strike? If all of the American people REFUSED to buy gasoline for one week (yes, I realize it would be nearly impossible, but hear me out on this), maybe it would send OPEC and all the oil companies a sign that we are sick of being exploited. I make next to minimum wage, which, in Washington is 7.35/hr, so I'm not doing too bad thanks to this wonderful thing called a 'minimum wage'. I didn't know they had this when I was in WV. LOL. But still, at 2.50/gallon, I'm thinking that I'm gonna have to break the news to Jenn that we're gonna be using the bus to get around. LOL. Houston Oil Party... I like that idea. But... the Boston Tea Party was a protest against taxes... we'd have to come out with an original twist to it. Eh, it'll never happen. People will keep driving their SUV's, Vans, Trucks, etc. (whether they actually need one of those or not varies on the person), and the gas prices will keep going up and up, and one day... only the rich will drive. Eh, maybe it'll be a good thing for our environment, who knows? But it still hurts, ya know?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
