Are you Born again of the Spirit?  How do you know?

Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth          Jn 4:20-24

God desires truth in the inward parts

When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior, you immediately become baptized with the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit indwells you. If this is what you're asking?

We pray to our Heavenly Father in the Spirit and in truth, and He listens, hears and answers when we pray in the Spirit and truth, according to His will.

That's easy and pretty straight forward - God is always exact in his commandments on what people need to do.

We can read for ourselves in Acts Of The Apostles how the first church did things in obedience to the word of God

following the teachings of Jesus their Lord and Saviour.

37  Now when they had heard these things, they had compunction in their heart and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles: What shall we do, men and brethren?
38  But Peter said to them: Do penance: and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39  For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, whomsoever the Lord our God shall call.
Acts 2: DRB

Jesus told us through his word that believers would be clearly identified

15  And he said to them: Go ye into the whole world and preach the gospel to every creature.
16  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall he condemned.
17  And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name they shall cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues.
18  They shall take up serpents: and if they shall drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay their hand upon the sick: and they shall recover.
19  And the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sits on the right hand of God.
20  But they going forth preached every where: the Lord working withal, and confirming the word with signs that followed.

Mark 16: DRB

So simple so easy like ABC or 123

repent from your previous life

believe the gospel

be baptized in water by full immersion confessing your faith for the forgiveness of your previous sins

seek the gift of the Holy Spirit and when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit you will speak in a new tongue

you will be given a new spiritual prayer language to communicate directly with Jesus and your Father in Heaven.

Then come the blessings, and the miracles, and the healings and other gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed to the

saints as you need and as you seek and pray for.

5  Jesus answered: Amen, amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh: and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7  Wonder not that I said to thee: You must be born again.
The Spirit breathes where he will and thou hear his voice: but thou know not whence he comes and whither he goes. So is every one that is born of the Spirit.
John 3:

No one is born-again without the work of the Holy Spirit in that person. The moment that person trusts Christ's finished work on the cross, His shed blood there, and His resurrection the Holy Spirit moves into the new believer's life.

Are you saying that Acts chapter 8 teaches that the Holy Spirit is not involved in an unbeliever coming to Christ for salvation? Please explain.

It is often said that -

"When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior, you immediately become baptized with the Holy Spirit,

and the Holy Spirit indwells you."

this is simply not true.

Acts 8:

12  But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13  Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14  Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15  Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16  (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17  Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

1> it is not automatic that believers receive the Holy Spirit straightaway on commitment or confession of faith

2> Acts 19:2  He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? ...

3>  How did the apostles Peter and John know that the Samarians who believed the gospel had not as yet received the Holy Spirit?

Something was missing - the sign spoken of by Jesus in Mark 16:17 - speaking in a new tongue by the Spirt

Receiving or being baptized in the Holy Spirit needs to be encouraged and asked for

Luke 11:13  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father

give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Yes, I agree that once a person puts there faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ and asks for forgiveness of sins and believes in their heart that He has been raised from the dead, that person will be saved. Romans 10:9-13 . I believe that the scripture teaches that once salvation occurs, the holy Spirit is given to us at the same time. Romans 5:1-5. also look at Romans 8:1-17. Verse 16,"the spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God...". We as children of God who have been justified therefore receive the spirit. Eyes are opened and the darkness flees.

I agree with this statement. We become children of God.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
