The Exhortation Thread (For Christians Who Love Jesus)

:emot-heartbeat:

The purpose of this thread is for Christians who love Jesus Christ to encourage one another, and to find encouragement from others, to obey Him, and to press on on the narrow and difficult road, on which encouragement to obey the Lord, and like-minded fellowship, is often scarce.

There is plenty of temptation to do evil and encouragement to compromise, but not much encouragement to obey, to be pure and holy, and to be faithful.

This thread is for encouraging the timid, the weary, the embattled and the down-hearted to stand firm in the doctrine of the New Testament and in all the will of God, to persevere and not to compromise, and for the edification and refreshment of those who desire to do what pleases the Lord in all things and to live wholly for Him, no matter what the cost.

(This thread is to exhort Christians to live according to the commandments and teachings of the New Testament, not the Old Testament, so please do not use this thread to tell people to keep the Law of Moses.

It is also not a thread for KJV-Only promotion, so please do not use it for that purpose.)

Share Scripture, share hymns, share words of Godly wisdom, share personal experiences, share difficulties and what is on your heart; find advice, knowledge, encouragement, and consolation.

Please remember to keep your attitude and motives in harmony with the Holy Spirit, and to speak the truth in love, and be mindful of the purpose of this thread in what you post here and in your interactions with others.

Please also bear in mind that what is loving and what is right is not always pleasant or desirable to hear, and do not accuse others of being unloving or judgmental simply because you do not like what they have said, which may be the truth and for your benefit.

-------

Take care brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. (Hebrews 3:12,13 ESV)

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world---our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 John 5:3-5 ESV)

THE EXHORTATION THREAD (For Christians Who Love Jesus)
Exhort...Strongly Encourage someone to do something..............

Ecc 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man

As we are all soldiers for Christ, we are all in the same army, fighting the same battles, encountering the same pains. On the battlefield (of life), it is so needed to receive a soothing ointment from a fellow brother or sister when we fall in battle against the enemy, who is like a roaring lion. A hand reaching down in help is so much better than a hand pointing a finger in judgement. Our real enemy is  principalities and powers in the unseen world, and not each other. One tiny bit of encouragement goes a long way, just as a word of condemnation, discourages. 1Th 5:11  Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Rom 12:10  Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Praise the Lord peoples .     Praise the Lord.

Let the songs of praise be uttered through the roofs .    Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Its a whole new day,  the things of yesterday are gone .  let us start afresh and anew in the LORD

and be here to do all to edify one another .    In pslams and reminders of the holy walk in the LORD.

Let the first love be upon the hearts of all.   This is a new day and we start afresh in Him.   Let that which was lame be healed.

Let us rejoice in the LORD ,   speak as the Spirit leads,   fill the place with JESUS sayings ,   with praises and with pslams.

I am off to work for a bit .    But its praising time even their.     By His grace we can do this .    Let each one

speak truth that edifies and just leap for joy people .   Praise the Lord ,   oh yes, praise the LORD>

As someone who loves Jesus, I liked the idea of this thread, till I read this comment where you created a rift between the KJV only believers and those who adhere to modern English translations.  There is no reason to assume it would have ever turned that way to begin with.

The grace of God is available to us to do all things, and there is no commandment, nor any will of God, which the grace of our Savior is not able to help us to do. Don't underestimate the power of your God. If you choose Him, He will support you, even when it is painful or frightening to do what you know is right. God works with us to do whatever He wants us to do.

Sometimes the discomfort of death to oneself is repulsive, even for those of us who have been walking with the Lord closely for a long time, and the pull of selfish and unspiritual desires is strong. But when it is, look to Jesus, and remember His sacrifice for you, His holiness, and that you owe Him your life, and choose to do what pleases Him. Choose the Lord and glorify God. He is your Defender, your best Friend, and your Master, who has your best interest at heart; and He deserves and demands a holy people.

Your sinful nature is not your friend, but your worst enemy. And like an addictive drug, the more you choose self and sin over the Holy Spirit and God's word, the less love and zeal you will feel for God and the more sin and compromise will accumulate in your life. To choose you is to choose to drift away from Jesus and to become weaker spiritually---and potentially to die; but to choose Jesus, daily, is to be stronger and stronger in Him, and He will become greater and greater in you. God will bless you for choosing Him, and He will renew your mind for doing this, and you will want Him more, and see things as He sees them better and better. The two of you will become closer and closer, one mind with each other, and you will share His feelings, and His desires will be yours also.

As Joshua said, "...Choose you this day whom you will serve..."

Choose the Lord, every day, all day, and don't let anyone, or anything, including your own sinful nature, hinder or discourage you from doing so.

Perhaps not, but I wanted to make clear that that wasn't the purpose of this thread. KJV-only believers are free to participate in this thread, but I don't want this thread to be derailed from its intended and specified purpose. I didn't say KJV only believers couldn't participate, and I requested that they not use this thread to promote KJV-Onlyism.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
